I'm surprised at how many of you thought Kornet would get more than the minimum. That was always what we should have expected for such a limited player. I'm surprised he wasn't able to get a player option added on though. But he might have preferred this since it give shim a NTC clause.

I thought he could get $5 million per year.

They also did some cap math to keep Richuan Holmes on a multi year deal with next year non-guaranteed.

I bring this up because they declined the option on Tristan Vukcevic, big man drafted #43 last year. If we lose Tillman, he has some stretch big potential that might be worth a flier.

Kornet is as much a vet minimum player as any vet minimum player out there IMO. He'll probably play another 5 years, with a new 1 year vet minimum deal each offseason haha. He's just not worth anymore.

I wouldn't read into that. That's parade day. This is free agency time. He's going to sit down with a level head, talk with his agent and weigh the options that are best for his career and financial future.

He probably gave us a hometown discount. 70% fg, 90% ft, 1 block per 15 min with the championship experience is worth more than vet min on open market. I’m ecstatic he’s coming back

Celtics improvement will just have to come from within. Strengthen that title team bond even more and improve as individuals esp the under-30 players. AND STAY HUNGRY. Everyone is trying to catch up. Cs will have a huge target on its back this season.
