Doesn't it feel weird to just unabashedly hate something for no good reason? Like, we're here on a forum for pro basketball yeah, but there are countless levels below that, why do we only get derogatory about it when it's a women's league? Why not trash the level of competition in the g league when it's mentioned, how come people don't get to projecting their shortcomings when the Big 3 is talked about?

Long story short, you should feel embarrassed for 1.) thinking those thoughts, and 2.) putting them out into the world as though we aren't all looking at you like less of a person now.

Yeah, ok. Please highlight where I "unabashedly hate something" in my post?

Put your big boy pants on and stop wearing those 3 inch beta shorts.

I owe you an apology. I thought you were weirdly hostile to foreign players when in fact you just hate everybody. My bad.

Getting in that stalker mode are we?

As far as foreign athletes, here are a few questions:

1) What percentage of Americans played in international soccer leagues before the MLS started or even now?

2) What percentage of international players play in the NBA?

Here's the answer as far as Ai

1) Relatively small for soccer. They can't even give an exact number because it is so small.

2) 20% for the NBA. That's what 90 or so players?

Maybe international soccer doesn't feel that American soccer players are up to snuff to play in their leagues. Is that hate, racism, "weirdly hostile" or whatever soyboy term people want to use? No, it's because maybe those leagues do not feel that Americans are good enough to play in their leagues.

Where's the outrage????

https://www.reddit.com/r/youthsoccer/comments/1ihrhuu/why_dont_more_us_players_go_pro_in_europe/

Some things I learned. Some countries have a limit to how many foreigners can play on their teams. Does America do that for it's professional sports?

I like WNBA. As a UConn alum I’m a big fan of Paige Beuckers. 18/4/6 as a rook!? She’s got a chance to dethrone Caitlin as the best player in the league. It’s exciting to see the talent level in women’s basketball increasing at such a rapid rate.

That said… saying the WNBA is beyond criticism is of course asinine. Demanding more money when the league has yet to turn a profit is a bad look. It should be noted however that business owners play games to avoid paying taxes especially when a business is young. So “the league has yet to turn a profit” while technically true might be a distortion of reality to some extent.

The league is unquestionably growing in popularity.
Players earning below 100k a year seems wrong. Making the league minimum 100 or 150k would be a good start.

WNBA needs more competent players tho. I mean …

The talent disparity between this and girls like Clark and Bueckers is comical. Instead of embracing the talented girls who are bringing more eyeballs, clicks and money to the league; there’s a bunch of petty, insecure, jealous children doing everything in their power to tear down Clark. It pathetic and it pushes people away from the WNBA.

That girl getting rejecting at the club was hilarious

I don’t watch many games, but Clark is not the best player. That was the case when she was playing well. Stats don’t even back up that claim and you could almost find stats to back up anything.

I’m guessing some people are going to keep pretending, maybe I should too, that the NBA players all welcomed Jordan, Kobe, and LBJ’s reign. I’ll pretend I didn’t live through it and hear players speak on them, I’ll pretend that they weren’t trying to prove they were better than those 3. I’ll pretend like they weren’t slamming MJ to the ground and more to try and rattle him. I’ll pretend that all the other MALES just welcomed them with open arms when people tried to crown them early, especially LBJ who crowned himself before the NBA! Yeah, the other players just laid down and praised their kings! Many shouts of savior rang out before every one of their games and after, from all the other players. :noway:

I’m not going to go back and forth with any of you, because I’m reading between the lines on a couple of you. I’ll have to excuse myself from the forum if I engage further on the other stuff.

There are people who watch the W the way they do the NBA, they can better refute your claim or tell me why you’re right. I’ll leave it to them to give insight on the best player(s).

The reason I like Clark is because she’s not on the same BS as some of you. She knows what’s up! She’s not perfect, but she can see what’s going down. I have had to defend her at times when people just see what others say online instead of listening to her. I intentionally seek out things she says, I watch her try and navigate, sometimes she fails, but a lot of the time she’s been on the right side of things. This is huge pressure because of underlying “issues” for the entire league, not just Clark. They are trying to get through it as best they can. The NBA went through it too. It is what it is, stay Americaning America.

I don’t know the exact numbers, but the NFL AND THE NBA each were not profitable at least 40 years! Of the major sports the WNBA players get the smallest % of the revenue. Yes, even when the NBA and NFL were in the hole OVER 40 years, the player’s split was exponentially higher than the split the WNBA players are getting! In fact, people are lying when they say that the women think they’re the same level as the men, they aren’t asking for anywhere close to the 50% split that the top male leagues are getting! They just don’t want the lowest percentage of all the leagues, which is at 9%! That’s disgusting!!

The WNBA will be profitable in ALMOST half the time it took both the NFL and NBA, FWIW.

Is this real? If it is, I’m not blaming LBJ and his camp if they feel it’s what they need to do, but it’s only going to get worse from here. Trolls are going to troll even if you successfully sue a few.

Macrons are suing Candace Owens and I hope they get every dime they can, but other idiots will keep saying it! I don’t know how I’d react, but I lived through Michelle Obama, and the Williams sisters when they faced the same attacks, not just from the nuts online either. Edit: “they” still say it about all of them today!

WNBA is a trash **** league with overly entitles players.

Comparing that league to early nba and early NFL is a disservice to those 2 leagues.

Its just nonsensical and based on zero logic.

NBA player made the same amount as modern WNBA players based on inflation. Most NBA players worked offseason jobs to make ends meet.

WNBA players are entitled and just expect to make million.

They are NOT the same and that **** needs to stop.

WNBA players work multiple jobs NOW, and many play basketball all year. When they aren’t playing in the W they go overseas.
