I think a top-3 pick, Porzingis, Ntilikina is a pretty enticing offer.

That sounds enticing. Come play with our trash

Oh for sure. But KG was like 31..Davis is 26. So it evens out a bit.

I think we certainly keep one of Jaylen or Smart..but Tatum is obviously gone. I think Jaylen is going to end up being the Rondo of this group. Stayed and balled out.

Its almost moot. LA is desperate and will massively overpay in the end. The goal should be to keep driving that price up on their end. Make it huuurrrrt.

I cant lie and tell you for sure but of the 3 they have between Ingram, kuzma and ball only kuzma has shown any real promise. Ball is bust. That i can say but I dont know **** about Ingram game.

I keep going back to this but is those 3 so much better than brown, smart and filler (rozier?) And 4 picks that it's worth trading him in their own damn conference? The answer is no but I have no idea how much NO values relevance.

I don’t disagree. Thats what I mean to make it hurt. All of those, plus others AND multiple unprotected picks in the 2023 and 2024 drafts. Make Magic and Co bleed for their greed.

Porzingis’ RFA status and his resulting salary makes him functionally untradable this offseason

Edit:

This is wrong because the Knicks will be under the cap. If anyone is curious, Larry Coon explains it here:

If we had AD, we wouldnt ever consider trading him for Tatum. Luckily for us, Boston is a stronger market than NO and they dont have the same luxury.

Stop arguing that we shouldn't trade Tatum for AD. Please. Its just the Endowment Effect.

Hayward is the key. If he is only 70 percent of what he was, you don’t trade the entire youth movment for AD. Horford isn’t getting younger and that leaves you with Kyrie and Ad with the contract of Hayward dragging them down. That isn’t winning jack.

If the Cs had AD and NO was offering Jaylen, Tatum, Williams, plus multiple picks I’d drive AD to the airport myself. Dude wants to leave anyways so whatever I can get is gravy. If a team is foolish enough to do that...so be it.

Jaylen and whatever other combo of picks and players is it.

Please don't trade Smart. Throw in the draft rights to Kris Clack if we have to.

It’s **** bs how this Kyrie story comes out with the Davis thing. Why wasn’t this reported before? **** Lebron that douche. He’s definitely behind all this. Purposely posting Instagram videos tagging Kyrie to create drama. Then rich Paul and Lebron telling Chris Haynes to report that Kyrie is uncertain to re-sign to scare the pelicans that the Celtics might never offer that massive package so they’re telling the pelicans to trade Davis now to the lakers.

If there is a God he would sap all of Lebron's athleticism out of his body for this kind of bull. Who else in the league actively tries to sow discord in other locker rooms to lure away their stars? This is some Machiavellian bull. :nonono:

Shows how desperate LeBron has become. Its quite pathetic to be honest with you.

I admit I would give a round of applause to Terry and Jaylen if they managed to say on this gravy train and didn't get moved.

For sure. It would likely be Hardaway Jr instead of Ntilikina, though. For both trade matching purposes and freeing up cap for KD and/or Kyrie.

Like what? You can put in the Sac pick and other 1st's but realistically what are other teams offering in their proposals? Pascal? Kuzma?

I'll give this, if Zion is a Knick then that's a better package but what else?

I think it’s going to take Tatum, Jaylen and picks.

And we keep Smart? Sold.
The most charitable interpretation is that it's ethnic cleansing and massive war crimes.

It must pain you to type Smart in that proposal.... He's been incredible and the definition of what it means to be a Celtic (in particular this year)

I'm not sentimental. If Brady had gotten dealt for multiple 1sts last year, that would have hurt a bit. Anything below that? Nah.

And everything is below that.

Not for sentimentality, but to keep the better win-now player, I think it can work with a Terry sign and trade + Yabu instead of Smart. Say Terry signs a $12-16M first year, declining contract. Counts at $6-8M for us, full amount for NOP, but they can be under the tax so I don't think that's a problem. Then you can give them the option:

BASE: Tatum/Terry/WIlliams/Yabu: ~$19-21M depending on Terry salary
Option: Jaylen or some combo SAC/LAC/BOS pick signed to get you the rest.
MEM pick in or out depending on which way they go.

They'd be in double max range for KD/Kyrie if they can pare down to AD and Knox.

I agree with this. Even with Brown picking up his play as of late, Smart is so damn important to this team. While Brown obviously has more trade value than Smart, Marcus is much more valuable to this team.

The issue is you keep expecting them to be able to get out of their garbage contracts while only getting expiring contracts back. Why are teams going to trade their expiring contracts for players that stink?

Fortunately they would not:

Knox: 4.4
Noah: 6.4
AD: 27.1
KD: 38.2
8 cap holds: 8M

Total: 84.1M
Cap: 109M

Remaining space: 25.1M
Kyrie’s max: 32.7M

Tatum
Brown
Williams
Yabu
Memphis pick (after draft)
Clippers pick (after draft)
Kings pick (after draft)

Probably the offer that makes the most sense for the Pelicans.

Kuzma
Ingram
Ball
Hart
Lakers 2020 pick
Lakers 2022 pick
