Golden state was a 73 win team with perhaps a 60-62 win talent level returning plus KD when they had to get rid of Bogut/barnes. They had already won a title. Joining such a team, makes sense to have a meeting to see how he would fit in and be accepted....

To join the rebuilding Knicks , a meeting would be an embarrassment since Knicks won very few games and just down't have that much proven talent yet. So, no meeting with players needed.

I just see him signing with Warriors but he could easily leave for Knicks if he thought they could get great after next year. He doesn't need a powerpoint presentation to know their assets from KP trade/revenue stream. His agent probably already has informed him of everything.

I think he stays but if Knicks had gotten Zion, it wouldn't have shocked me if he had bolted for the Knicks. I wouldn't want to leave a team that could be competitive to make the NBA Finals without me and win it all -- granted Warriors probably can't do that next year vs Lakers -- to the Knicks unless I thought Knicks had great shot.

But it's KD's life and as much as he talks about money at times, I don't think that will be the overriding concern. Folks will say it was if he stays but ultimately if he stays I think it is mostly about the talent levels between the teams.

Woj says it’s for the MLE. Normally I would say that’s a lot of work for another 5 million, but we are incredibly thin at the 5 right now with no Horford. My dream is that it is for Horford and the MLE, but we will see.
