Collins stuff could just be Atlanta saying to Brad "hey want his contract" and Brad saying "hell no" lol

Atlanta reportedly wants scoring on the wing and to move collins...Maybe...idk, seems like it might need more added from Boston, not sure how much.
I have Brogdons value as higher than Collins right now.
Grant and Okongwu right now probs pretty equal
Griffin hasnt done much.
I think you might have erred here, sure brogdon is probably valued a bit higher than collins atm but Okongwu is rated and worth a heck of a lot more than grant, even if you think theyre equivalent as players, Kong still has 1 more year to go at 8 mil before being rfa, while grant has to get paid now. Griffin is the real crux here, he's a very promising 19/20 year old who has great size and showed amazing shooting potential. This would be highway robbery for the Celtics. Atlanta hangs up without responding. They also dont need or want brogdon with Trae, DJM and Bogi already in place
They reportedly want another wing scorer. 6moty woulfit well behind Trae and Murray.
Theyir front court is pretty loaded.
And I did mean they lues right now are equal, ignoring future potential. I also did post probs needs more from Boston.

I dont doubt they want collins, he'd fit nicely here but atlanta has no need for brogdon, hence the need for a 3 teamer. Like brogdon to suns, collins to boston, ayton to atlanta works if they also ship out capella in a different deal. Something like that was probably discussed but i think its fairly likely its dead now.

I mean Brogdon's contract is just as bad if not worse. Brogdon played in the most games (67) last year since his rookie year and he won 6th man of the year. Brad Stevens would be smart to sell high. It won't get better than last year.
Not talking about Collins either, just get front court help.

Agreed. I don't like either of them at all, especially for a team with our mental makeup. Same with Towns.
Agree about all three of them. Maybe I haven't seen enough of Ayton. He's been fairly consistent year after year and yet his value is at a low point. If Brogdon and pieces to get a 7' 18 and 10 C, well, gotta think about it.
Question is: does a change of scenery make a difference in Ayton's effort? In Phoenix, he's basically been known as "not Luka, not Trae". I see a young athletic player with great size and good skill but questionable motor and IQ. How much can be addressed by a better situation.
Yeah, he got sonned by Jokic but who doesn't? He's still only 24 and if he puts it all together this year could look really good with Tatum and Brown if Celtics get a point guard.

Lol at that Anton video title. He looks absolute **** but you never know if a change of scenery might do wonders. Still, I'd rather take a chance on Porzingis who only has one year left on his contract and fits the offensive philosophy a lot better. You can cut bait if it's a failure unlike Anton's albatross of a contract.
Brogdon + Grant (S&T) + #35 for Porizingis

Almost looks like he's maybe favoring his foot/leg..
Yikes, that Youtuber is not parsing his words. I was overseas and saw none of that series. Was Ayton that bad? Or injured. Maybe it is the selected clips but he's made to look indifferent.
he was horrendous and not injured. Got benched for jock landale cause he just wasn't trying. 1000 % checked out, just watched jokic grab oreb after oreb.
Ok, I wasn't sure.
Yeah, pass on Ayton. Especially not with that contract, and the injury history.
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything

Yeah I agree with the Brogdon stuff, I'm just not sure Brad would do it for John Collins is all

Its only slightly better cause its a year shorter and when healthy Brogdon is more productive. But theyre both kinda neutral at best.

But yeah the obvious move is brogdon + xyz for frontcourt help. balance out the roster.

Brogdon is a better player than Collins and has more money left but Collins fills the C's biggest need, and think he would be a good fit. If we swap picks, it seems like a good deal for both.
Collins+#15 for Brodgon+#35

Honestly don't think the Celtics get Porzingis, Ayton, Collins, Capela or anyone else making big money. Probably some PF/C in the $6-12 million range but who knows? Fun time of the year.

Atlanta wouldn't do it. That would leave them with too much of a PG logjam (trae, murray, brogdon) and no one to start at PF.
It would also mean that Atlanta's 3 highest paid players would all be guards who are under 6'6". Yikes.
Any deal involving Brogdon and Collins would have to be a 3 teamer..

Re: Trade Thread Dread, pt 3, 2023-24 - (Off-season)
I know we need to trade someone but Brogdan was our best driver and foul creator last year.
He consistently got to the hoop.
The real issue this offseason is can Tatum summon the Alpha. For someone who idolized Kobe, he does seem to lack the main Kobe ingredient. He needs the FU personality.

Any idea if Indiana is still interested in Ayton, considering they signed him to the offer sheet last year?
Wonder if a frame work around the following
BOS out: Brogdon, filler (PP?)
BOS In: Hield, Jalen Smith
IND out: Hield, Jalen Smith
IND In: Ayton
PHX out: Ayton
PHX In: Brogdon, filler
Not sure I'm totally down with this exact scenario, and I have no idea what IND feelings are around either the outgoing/incoming players on their side. I do know I'd like a shooter who does a lot movement off ball (relocating, cutting etc). That would be a tremendous boost to Tatum/Smart/White when they have the ball in their hands

Any interest in Obi Toppin? Is he starter material? He may be on the outs. Contract year though.

Don't think Indy is willing to pay Ayton and Turner $52-55 million per year to play the same position.

Only way IND trades for Ayton is if Turner gets moved in the deal. You wouldn't be able to play Turner and Ayton at the same time, They're both drop bigs who can't switch out on the perimeter.
I suppose it could maybe work if brogdon goes to phoenix, ayton goes to IND and turner comes to Boston, though..
