Kudos to the Nets, they certainly aren't losing due to lack of effort. They've taken some good teams down to the wire but in the end they just aren't talented enough. Their main men are playing heavy heavy minutes thus far and their lack of depth may factor in down the stretch. These guys are going to be running on fumes against a much more competitive eastern conference. I don't think they can do any worse than 3rd sadly as nobody is catching Philly and the lakers have supreme tank commander Scott running the show.

I think Kobe is the supreme tank commander lol. usage of 30 and a TS% of 45.

Semi big game for the Nets today. Washington today followed by 8 games against teams likely to make the playoffs.

Lol you might be right there. Still, Scott says benching Kobe isn't an option and then proceeds to bench Russell and Randle. What a nightmare over there, makes me very thankful the celtics have a guy like Stevens running the show even though it's a players league

The deal with Boston is done and nothing is going to change that. Managing the PR hit of a trade that happened 3 years ago today will set the franchise back even further.

It will be VERY interesting to see what they do at the deadline.
I wouldn't totally underestimate the PR portion of this. The Nets are not the Knicks in NY and waiting through three seasons of seeing how high of a pick the Celtics would get would be an impossible thing for fans to wade through.
What I said before the season is that it might be in both the Celtics and Nets best interest to make a trade involving Lopez on one of the Brooklyn picks. Maybe even get T Young involved. It allows the Nets to move forward to dismantle everything and rebuild. They finally would have incentive to lose.
The key would be Lopez's health. On a playing level Lopez is a bone-fide All Star. You go into next season with a player in Lopez that KD would have been willing to play with last season, a team with ability, money to spend, flexibility and 2 of the three Brooklyn picks. Obviously Lee and Jerebko and the pick is all you need to give up.
One other thing to remember. In the Nets giving up Lopez AND the Nets having incentive to lose, you now may have two better draft picks than having the three that might not be as good.
There isn't the immediate need to act on this - maybe you see how Cousins and other things work out. But it is something to think about

There's no reason in any situation to give Brooklyn their pick back this year for Lopez. We could get him for a worse first round pick if we even wanted him. Plus I don't think he fits well with how Brad wants to have this team play.

Good job Washington. Thanks for beating Brooklyn and also for otherwise being completely unremarkable in every way.

Not projected, protected. What it means is if Dallas has a poor enough season in which their draft pick is one of the first 7 of the draft, Dallas keeps their draft pick this season and the celtics have another chance next year to acquire that pick. If the Minnesota pick falls in the top 14 this season they keep their pick as well, except after this season they would no longer owe the celtics a first round pick but instead two second round picks. Also I forgot to mention that boston also owns Philadelphias 2nd round pick which is sure to be the first pick of the second round.

Thank you kind sir, I wasn't 100% sure on that one. It's certainly possible that the celtics have 3 picks in the 12-20 range to go along with the nets pick. Crustacion nation should start planning their parade now through old port.

Dallas's pick is also protected if it's 15 or higher. we only get it if it's 8-14. i thought we had a good chance at that but the WC picked a **** year to get sucky all of a sudden.

as of now we only have our pick and BKN's. hold the lobster boat just yet.

Nets lost to Wiz. Pels beat the rockets and the C's won on the road. Great night for us

No, that was last season. The Dallas pick is just top 7 protected now.

Based on the MRI of Bledsoe, might be a team out there set to leapfrog the Nets. Would suck for the Suns to jump into the bottom 5 discussion

Early indications are that Bledsoe does not have a torn ACL, but no-one knows for sure until MRI is done.

I think it's a 6 team race to the bottom. Sixers, Lakers, Nets, Nuggets, Wolves, Bucks. I just think that the Suns, Blazers, and NO are too good at the end of the day to finish with a bottom 5-6 record. I am assuming that Bledsoe is not out for a long period.
