The only two players on Hal14's list who interest me are Javonte Green (if healthy) and Neemias Queta. Green defends and Queta rebounds.

You have to root for a guy like Green who went undrafted as a 6-4 power forward out of a third tier conference and paid his dues in Europe before finally carving out an NBA career for himself.

Lamar is balling in memphis. Still don’t understand why we never played him

Except that he bricked two free throws that might have cost the Grizz the game.

Out of the summer signings, I had fairly high hopes for Lamar. All I can gather from watching the limited minutes he had was that he did not fit the system very well. I guess it would have helped if he was a better 3pt shooter. I like the trade though, as Tillman fits a need for the Celtics. Lamar has a good opportunity in Memphis.

Crazy how that decimated Grizzly team took it to the flailing Bucks. Impressive. I should watch some highlights of GG Jackson. Liked him in the draft and would have preferred Brad kept one of those seconds he stacked and drafted him. Walsh and Jackson would be a nice defense/offense punch to have in the development pipeline. Not that Jackson would be getting minutes in Boston, but the talent is there.

Idk what's going on with Javonte. He's only played in 2 games al season..they were in the G league for the warriors g league team..on 2/7 and 2/9.

He did have knee surgery in january 2023. Maybe the knee was giving him issues and that's why he didn't play in any games until this month?
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

Yes, that's why I flagged his health as an issue.

Player's have to be waived from their current team by March 1st in order to sign with another team and still be eligible for the playoffs. It would be very surprising to me if Brad Stevens does anything before March 1st. Guys like Osman, D Wright, Muscala etc. could all still be bought out and waived.

Brad could waive Svi so he has an opportunity to play and contribute for a real contender.

That's my buyout guy. Still not confident about PP holding up on defense in the postseason. Delon Wright would be a perfect 8-10 minute reliever.

League sources have said that the Celtics have no urgency to fill their final roster spot, and that just about every avenue is being considered. They’ve spoken to current free agents, they continue to monitor the buyout market, and they will also consider converting center Neemias Queta’s two-way deal into a standard NBA contract.

A source said that it is all but certain that Boston will fill the spot before the end of the regular season, however. Last year Boston signed wing Justin Champagnie, who was then 21, to a two-year, partially guaranteed deal with just one week left in the regular season. It was essentially a chance to get a look at a potential developmental piece, and that route could be considered later this year, too.

I though Jayden Springer was supposed to do that.

That's good information to know. I expect the one or two "blue chip" buyouts will happen by then, and it will be like Black Friday sales for contending teams. I hope Brad has his dry powder and elevator pitch ready, as there will be a ton of competition for a Wright os Osman. I could really see Osman here. Just feels like it's in the cards, but we'll see.

Springer was a good trade in case no buyout, and he's got potential and a decent contract to trade if it doesn't work out here. Delon Wright would bring much more experience and PG skills than Springer, and be more of a sure bet for playoff back up minutes, but I wouldn't mind having both. Brad likes Springer and seems like he wants to develop him more for the future, with occasional minutes now for his defensive skills.

I don't think Delon is a good fit WITH Pritchard. One will be unhappy for sure. Not that I care that much about them being happy, lol, but since we passed the deadline with PP as our 3rd string PG, I think it makes sense to keep him that way, unchallenged. I'm on board for someone like Cory Joseph or similar to just be there for emergency/mopup minutes the PG.

Or the super likely - nobody. Just let Springer do it in garbage time.

We'll probably see some JD once the 1st seed is locked up.

Too young and inexperienced. He’s a midterm project.

We have Point Brissett now. I'm not worried.
