Because it's bad for the game, it's not competitive. Players compete on the court, GMs compete off it. All the rules about payroll, luxury tax, Bird rights, the MLE, the TPE are designed to keep small-market teams in the mix, and have a level playing field for owners and GMs. As much as GS and Miami deserve some credit for managing their cap well and making a good sales pitch, and it's all technically above-board, it's kind of a cheat. I remember thinking before Lebron left Cleveland that the league should have rules against collusion between players- instead we have indirect "recruiting", with IT talking to Horford at the All-Star Game, and players communicating during free agency to coordinate movements. Put a ban on having any players and free agents talk to each other about off-season plans or intentions.

Players will not and should not agree to that. Think owners have bigger fish to fry than fight that battle. As much as I hate it, I don't see it happening on either side.

I think the personalities in Philly are going to get ugly this season. It's going to be Lord of the Flies over there. If Colangelo was smart he would thin the herd so his best young players can develop. Between Simmons, Embiid, and Okafor there isn't going to be chemistry, there's going to be a meltdown.

God they gotta stop with the champagne in baseball. 1000x more embarrassing than dropping confetti after winning a regular season game. Step it up Sox, title or bust. Division doesn't mean squat.

Yeah that'll never happen. How could they? Gonna check every players messages? Stop ppl from becoming friends at the olympics? Let's be real here. 20 year ago, it was strange to 2 high school stars in KG & Pierce be so friendly, living cross country. Now a days? These dudes are all bffls before they get drafted. They all have own agendas. No way to stop it.

Do I think ppl should be doing after a playoffs series? Hell no, but that's me personally. IfI'm Durant & I just blew a 3-1 lead on GSW & Draymond's like "yo, come through we can live happily ever after together" .. I'd tell him to SMD.

Yeah really, my understanding of the CBA negotiations is you fight for every yard. Players won't give it up for no reason and the owners would rather comprise on something to get a larger slice of the pie.

You're not intrigued by the possibility of KG giving LeBron **** on live television and making him cry in front of millions of people?

Sullinger's back down to 260 and he's talking like he found religion, but who knows. If he keeps the weight off, or even gets slimmer, he could get a Biyombo-esque raise.

Also OT, but I haven't seen any posts about it here and it's worth mentioning- Kevin Johnson, who's already trailed by talk of corruption, had a protester slam a pie in his face at a dinner and responded by beating the sh*t out of him, punching him ten times in the face.

And bringing Rondo and Wade to Chicago would be the perfect set-up for a Butler trade, they get two "stars", one with local roots, and leverage that artificial improvement to deal Jimmy for something that helps their future. A two or three team deal with Okafor to Chicago seems plausible.

Come on man...you can't possibly buy into any Sully off-season weight loss or talk. We've been down that road too many times before.

As for Kevin Johnson, he is a complete scumbag and deserves far worse than a pie in the face. What a dick.

In the quotes I read, it sounded at least like Sullinger had thought more about his weight and weight loss than he had before, it wasn't just "I've lost weight", or "working hard", it was talking about how he has to keep his habits healthy, that he's cut back on portions but hasn't explicitly eliminated anything from his diet because that might increase his cravings... There was also a bit about how he started having like 5 sandwiches at a go from McDonald's in sixth grade. He seems, maybe, to have recognized the "weight" of the problem.

I also saw a bit where he was praising Toronto for "trusting" him to go without a weight clause in his contract, which Boston would have required...

This is why you don't proclaim ROY favorites even before the season starts. Unfortunate.

:D. Like with Sullinger, I hope it works out very well but I'm not interested in making an investment, personally..
