No they didn't and they just confirmed it. Nunn missed the start of the bubble due to catching Covid.. But none of that is my point.. Give young guys minutes and often or they won't develop.. plain and simple!!
Nunn lost his spot and never got it back....I didn’t need to watch the broadcast like u to know that and he also barely played in the playoffs like i said thanks tho
congrats, you remembered I didn't.. meanwhile 20 missed picks and no development Later Boston has NO BENCH!!
STEVENS + AINGE = NO PLAYER DEVELOPMENT.. (unless top lottery pick) and BOTH have lot's to blame in that regard!!! OH and Yes Ainge may draft them but Stevens has a big say in it.. NO GM drafts players without consulting their recently extended coach..

Not strictly true.
However, he's under contract there for quite a while, and we haven't heard nearly ENOUGH about him wanting out to conclude that Indy has any real need to move him.
Wait, what have you heard? Outside of the speculations in this forum, I mean. I must admit I haven't paid attention to trade rumors yet.

all that talent, but chemistry would be a nightmare.. too many players want to be the "guy" with only one ball..

Yea except that top 10 superstar player whose made a leap every year and Jaylen brown who has all star potential and got better every year.....no development. Way to cherry pick- ever occur to you that the Celtics have been competitive every year and haven’t had great picks?

Stevens and Ainge = No Player Development? The Celtics roster is almost completely made up of draft picks and UDFAs. Hayward, Kemba and Kanter are the only players who came up through other teams.

Holy sheeshh..
I said outside of top lottery picks.. Tatum, Brown and Smart. Boston has had 20+/- draft picks.. and the guys Boston has had are 3 lottery picks plus 3 MAX GUYS!! AL Horford, G Hayward and Kemba.. with a 27 and 29 year old (Theis and Wanamaker) over seas players..
SO I can make the argument that Stevens has had FAR MORE than what 90-95% more to work with..
Again. 3 MAX player when some teams can't even sign one, and 20 freakin draft picks..how much more does Stevens need??
or let me put this another way. where would Boston be under Brad Stevens, if the Nets don't hand Boston the worst trade maybe ever?? (Tatum plus Brown plus other draft picks)
we'd be in picking top 5 again....
2 things need to go.. my lack of spell check and Joe..

Let's see, 1 is an All-Star, 1 should be an All-Star next season, 1 is All-Defense 1st Team. 1 former draft pick was traded for Kemba, who was an All-Star. 1 UDFA is our starting center. 1 UDFA is played the 2nd most minutes on our bench. 1 rookie played 1000 minutes in a short season. Show me a team that's done as well?

It is too late tonight to copy and post them all.. but the list of draft picks is double to triple more than any other team during Stevens ERA..

Pacers guard Victor Oladipo is “looking to move on” from Indiana this offseason, sources tell Jared Weiss of The Athletic, who writes that Pacers big man Myles Turner is “possibly in the same boat.”
Weiss is a Celtics beat writer and his update on Oladipo and Turner is buried within a piece about Boston’s future and upcoming roster decisions. However, J. Michael of The Indianapolis Star confirms Weiss’ intel, tweeting that – based on conversations he has had – Oladipo and Turner are the two Pacers most likely to be moved before the 2020-21 season begins.

All in all, over the past few years our outside of the lottery drafting hasnt been great. There have been some nice hits though, like TimeLord. But you cant win them all and perhaps CBS isnt great at developing talent. He has had max players and lottery picks to focus on instead to try and win. We havent won, but the intent has been to win. Some teams can do both (winners and development), maybe as currently structured we cant.

Re: Trade Ideas Thread
Kemba isn’t getting moved. I love him but he is same issue with IT getting abused and targeted on defense in the playoffs. Not quite as bad but he was brutal and had worst net rating of any starter in the Miami series.
I just don’t like the fit of Kemba, Brown, and Tatum if you’re going for a ring.
Hayward or Smart most likely to get moved but I doubt either one gets traded. Moving Hayward unlikely due to the bad optics of it and you aren’t getting anything in return that is better than him imo

https://clutchpoints.com/why-the-pacers-are-more-likely-to-trade-myles-turner-than-victor-oladipo/ asserts that Turner being moved and/or wanting to be moved is pure speculation ... but tends to agree with the speculation.

Semi, Grant Williams, Wanamaker, Theis, Rob Williams? Literally already all listed in the original post.
Late picks, 2nd rounders and UDFA are contributing bench minutes, while lotto picks are stars. As things should be, don't you agree?

Re: Trade Ideas Thread
Fantasy Hayward-to-Indiana trade, non-big return edition:
DET gets Oladipo, Edwards, #14, #47
IND gets Hayward, #26
BOS gets Rose, Snell, Warren, #7
*Options on Hayward and Snell exercised. Kanter, Semi, Green, and Wanamaker all walk. Dunno what to do with Poirier.
Kemba / Brown / Tatum / Warren / Timelord
Rose / Smart / Snell / Grant / Theis
Waters / Langford / vet / #30 / #7
If we ever play in a bubble again, TJ Warren can give you 50-piece like it's nothing lol. Snell and Warren both shot 40% from three last season. Rose is someone who can penetrate the defense and get into the paint at will. Could be our LouWill w/o the shooting. Is there a quality big in the draft at #7?
Sell Detroit to pairing Griffin with another all-star calibre player. Dunno why they'd give up #7 in this scenario. I tried to talk them out of it but they insisted on trading it to us.
Dipo wants out of Indiana, Hayward probably wants in. Win-win! Give them #26 for Warren.
Let's call this Celtics 2018 Redux with Rose in the Rozier role and Warren in the Mook role. Snell takes over Semi's place. Lots of mid-tier salaries/pieces that can be cobbled together for a special pupu platter in case a star becomes available midseason.

No excuses now. Go win a title.
Statistically, Paul's one of the best PGs, ever, but he's freaking old and has a mile long injury history, while making over 40 mils a year. That's a huge NO NO. I wouldn't be opposed to somehow finding a way to trade Kemba for FVV. I really like FVV as a player after watching him against us, very good on defense, doesn't need the ball in his hands, makes the right play and can shoot the 3 ball. I like the fit so much. Dream scenario- Collins and FVV. Raptors don't @ me.
Good assessment:

He's not as bad as IT, but he's definitely not as good as IT on offense, especially not as good as pre-injury IT. So it kinda evens out, I'd actually take pre-injury IT over this version of Kemba. I was fairly disappointed in Walker's production on offfense sans the Philly series. 19 pts on what .430 from the field for a guy who makes 32 mils this and 34 next year...

How does this improve us on the boards? I think we were a big man away from being a championship team. We need a guy who is 20-30 % better than Theis and we can win a championship.
