Yeah, I did. I know people have different viewpoints, but this board is not the place for the discussions. If people can’t respect that, then they will get banned.

You want to talk about those issues, go on the current affairs board.

Fair enough. I just wanted to make sure this board does not take an official stance on political and social issues

Roughly same winning % as Brad with a lot more experience. Could do worse

Hes three time failed head coach. Nice guy, but older than Ainge and I’ve seen enough to know he’s not what we need.

I still don't see Stevens staying in this role very long. He's still very young and probably still wants to coach somewhere and at sometime. My guess is it's only a matter of time before the right opportunity opens up and he'll take it. I'm guessing one year in this role. That said, I don't love this GMing by committe tactic. I'd rather have a big boss man come in for the new coach search, draft, foreign ops, and getting the roster straightened out. Seems like we got all ready for the beach but didn't go in.

Edit: but at least we're at the beach and 2 out 3 ain't bad 8-)

Stevens was an economics major and management fellow at the university. This position, considering his love of basketball, may be exactly what he's aspired to his entire life. He knows the organization, he knows the roster, the owners seem to love him, the players too... I don't think it's a temporary position (unless, of course, he blows the opportunity). Is he ready and has what it takes? Time will tell.

Thanks SD fair enough. Just seems he's awfully young though to hang up the whistle. And aren't you a bit concerned with him in his new role rather than someone with a fresh new approach. It's reasonable to assume that Stevens played a major role in Ainge's moves over the year's such as Kemba, Teague, Edwards, and even the moves he didn't make due to perceived coachability factors. Ownership seems to like him a lot but maybe they didn't want to go with a real gm (pun intended) for risk adverse reasons.

Well, I was in the Zarren train, always thought he was the chosen one. I guess Zarren wouldn't have meant a fresh new approach, so in that regard I'm not disappointed that Stevens got the job instead. (I do wonder if this means that Zarren will bolt.) Not sure what to expect about Stevens as GM, to be honest. Who he picks for head coach will give us the first big hint on where this project is headed. I expect a brand-new "Fire Stevens" thread as soon as he picks someone who flew under the radar :D

Racism and sexism are a violation of the RealGM ToS. This website has taken an official stance on them. As has anyone with a shred of personal integrity.

To add to the above... Even if racism and sexism weren't a violation of the RealGM ToS, they are ****ing unacceptable here or anywhere. No grey areas to this.

Dame thinks highly of David Vanterpool. It's a stretch to think that Dame would somehow come with David Vanterpool? Kemba and Jaylen and #16 for Lillard & Little?

Yeah, saying:

“ The absolute eggshells people have to walk on these days.”

In response to someone calling Ainges statements about ‘not hearing about anything racist in xx years here’ dumb is racist.

It was a dumb comment that was objectively false. Comparing Ainge to needing to walk on eggshells is wholely dismissive to multiple PoC voicing their concerns publicly and racist.

Saying no racism or sexism is "an official stance on political and social issues", and not just, like... part of being a decent human being?

Yikes.

Sadly, neither racism or sexism are a direct violation of the realgm TOS.

It only comes up indirectly when discussing linking to hate speech websites specifically.

This is probably because the last time Howard updated it was 1993.

Why do I know this? Because I had to read the TOS after this thread recently:

I don't know about that. We'll see. That thread had validity based on the product many had seen since 2019. Just a difference in opinion and that's good. The HC choice will probably be a consensus pick, and if it's an under the radar pick that could be good too as it'll show they're thinking past the pundits. What I'm wondering is what will be the experience of the next HC. To me its more about the leadership, respect and gravitas of the coach rather than the Xs and Os. If Chris Paul retired today, I'd want him here coaching tomorrow. Who's the next Tommy Heinsohn?

I mean, realistically, to have any chance, I assume we'd have to give up Jaylen.

We also couldn't keep Jaylen and still have enough cap space to sign Beal a year from now (assuming Dame was on payroll as well).

If you look at the tape throughout the season it was pretty clear. Doesnt mean that Brad is a bad coach. The message just got old. Larry Bird said it best when he left coaching.

It’s speculation from people looking to find a reason

You're ignoring the fact that Brad has admitted that they need a new voice. Terry Francona is a good coach but he ultimately lost his team and had to be replaced. It happens.

You also act like Felger is the only one to notice. Hell, national media has noticed as well.
