They're up 2 on the Spurs with 4 mins left. Remind me again why I'm supposed to be so afraid of them in the first round?

Because we can't guard Embiid.

But Jakob Poetl can? Embiid has 26/9/5. The difference is rest of Sixers roster can’t do ****.

We can’t guard Embiid?

Game 1: 15/13/3 on 5-14 FG

Game 2: 38/13/6 on 12-21 FG

Game 3: 11/5/1 on 1-11 FG

Averages: 21/10/3 on 39% FG.

I’d say that’s somewhat of an answer holding him below his PPG and RPG average for the year and holding him to under 40% FG (8% less than his season avg)

Even when Embiid goes off (like he did vs IND and tonight vs Spurs), the rest of Sixers roster can’t punish other teams

Jakob Poetl is 7'1. Daniel Theis is 6'8. We're one of the smallest teams in the league. They have one of the best big men in the league. Just not a good match up. I think we win the series but, I doubt it will be anywhere near as easy as the Pacers without Oladipo

Spurs without 3 starters and up 4 with 2 mins left. Remind me again why I'm supposed to be so afraid of them in the first round?

Bad timing posting this haha. Today, he was their savior.

I understand Embiid is a terrible matchup for us but I'm just not scared of the rest of their team. Embiid will get his no matter what. He's just a dominant player. Hell, he got his when we had Baynes and Horford. The rest of their roster is just constructed so poorly and I think Brett Brown is a moron lol so maybe I'm just too confident we would beat them in a best of 7 idk.

Yeah I meant national media and Sixers fans pegging Shake as savior to unlock their team as a contender in the playoffs all of a sudden. Not to beat a Spurs team without 3 starters lol.

The national media say a lot of dumb things. Most of us here could qualify as national media.

To me, Milton's insertion to the starting lineup is more of an admission that Horford signing was an expensive mistake more than anything. Desperation move considering their lack of options, to say the least.

Maybe I'm crazy but in a 7-game series this Philly team does not impress me. Sure Embiid will have a few good games. I'm just not of the belief that the other guys can consistently score enough to beat us 4 times.

I thought Bogdanovic was a pretty decent player but I am surprised by just how much they miss him.

It really shows that there's a lot more to team construction than talent and fit on paper. There's a lot of hidden levers that get pulled up or down when players are put into and out of a lineup. At first Ingles was struggling because there were two other ball handlers and decent usage scorer in the same lineup. Then he struggled on the bench as there wasn't a PnR presence. Conley struggled because of the style change, which no one saw coming. People thought the Jazz were well rounded with their shooting and Gobert as a roll threat along with a smart point in Conley.

The Jazz are really out of sync as they never gained a new working identity after all the roster changes. Bogi is pretty good and independent of systems. I don't necessarily think the Jazz needed him to function rather everything else wasn't falling in place.

Zion is tough to stop if he would get in shape.

But now with just 1.5 game lead on the 8th seed the Grizz have made things interesting. Still very unlikely they blow that lead with what 6 games to go but still... it's not crazy now.

You sure about that?

You get a gander at their remaining schedule? Utah, OKC, Tor, us, Milwaukee. Tell me there's no possibility a young team like that couldn't lose all 5 games.

A healthy POR team that was in the WCF last year has: Hou, Den, LAC, Philly, Dal, and what used to be the Nets. Definitely some winnable games for a committed Dame and the boys.

SA has: Den, Utah, NOLA, Hou, and NOLA one more time.

What you see as unlikely, I see as inevitable.
