Ignore him. He hasn't posted on trade proposal that isn't totally lopsided in the Celtics favor.

Not true, he suggested Tatum for Hali/Barnes/picks during the game yesterday.

I’ll just consider is a momentary lapse in judgement

But once again, dealing with that Indiana front office is an exercise in frustration.
.

Indy with Turner off the table probably means there is even less interest from Indy in moving Sabonis.

Kyle Anderson is the only playmaking "wing" I can think of..

trading richardson for alexander-walker makes this a better team?

or is this just a salary dump?
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

It's possible. Now, the Wizards offering him a supermax would be BEYOND stupid, he hasn't even been their best player this season (Kuzma has straight up been better) and he's going to be 29 when that contract starts (and would be the 2nd-highest paid player in the NBA). But as we saw with Wall, Wizards gonna Wizards

The Beal situation is very hard to read right now, they're having a decent season in DC but still just in 8th

C’mon lol, there isn’t even an argument for Kuzma being better this year. Beal can’t hit anything from deep, but Kuzma has been the exact same player as always, just more responsibility.

Obviously Beal hasn’t been as good as usual, but he’s been the far better player by any and every metric.

Maybe not for the whole season, but Kuzma the last month or so has basically been putting up 20+ point double doubles every single night. Saying that he's the same player as he's always been is completely disingenuous. Also, to be fair, the Wizards are something like 6-3 without Beal this season.

Main point is that paying Beal a supermax would be dumb on the Wizards part, but they're the Wizards so they're going to offer it to him 100%

Here's some "scoring wings" who fit into the $17.1 mil TPE:
-Gary Trent, Jr
-Norman Powell
-Terrance Ross
-Luke Kennard

Scoring wings we could maybe get but probably less realistic since they make more than $17.1 mil:
-Eric Gordon
-Harrison Barnes
-Buddy Hield
-Caris LeVert

I mean per 36 last year he averaged 16/8/2 on 44/36 splits, this season it’s 17/10/3 on 45/32 splits. Pretty similar, but mostly semantics lol.

As your overall point, completely agreed. The wizards are usually dumb as hell, but I think they want a team to bail them out from having to give Beal the supermax.

Acquiring more shooters would just be overkill.

I love the idea of adding another isolation-oriented wing scorer. LOL.

Levert could be interesting but only if a shooting PG was brought in.

I just dont know who is out there that fits the mold. However, I am genuinely happy to hear that Brad is looking for a wing scorer.

that mean NO MORE DOUBLE BIG LINEUP!!!!

They are starting to use Jaylen more like I was hoping. Still would like to see less of him initiating, but this is a step in the right direction.

Mostly about salary and flexibility - but NAW is an interesting prospect. Low floor, medium ceiling 6'6 combo guard off the bench, ideally. Hasn't panned out but flashes talent, only 23.

He is improving at initiating though, which is good.

But that is a complete by product of Ime's lack of system.

Jaylen is turning into a real weapon offensively. A great pair for Tatum. Just need to find that playmaker to sandwich between the 2 of them

There's also Tomas Satoransky, who's barely playing and plummeting to career lows as a shooter

Does this mean we're willing to go deeper into the tax for the right player?

Well hopefully it's us. As much as I just crapped on him in posts above, I still want him lol. FWIW, most Wizards fans I've read would prefer to move Beal before paying him too.

The Wizards are in a weird spot at the deadline, they've been mentioned a lot with Jerami Grant but the issue with him is you're giving up future assets for him and you have to pay him; Fischer said whatever team Grant gets moved to might have to pay him 4 years, $112 million next summer. That is a hefty price to pay for just Beal and Grant by themselves.

I guess their logic to not moving him now would be that if he only wants to go to Boston, then you'll get the same deal for him at the deadline from us that you'll get in the offseason too (with Rob Williams potentially added in the offseason due to the poison pill contract rules now).

Return to Boston Celtics
