Not in love with this trade. It does look like we jettison over $20 million in salaries so in that regard we're golden.

Deal is terrible. But hey the team got another 2nd so now they’re under the apron. Cool.

Had to get under the second apron I suppose. Hopefully Simons pans out bc they gutted the team and really only got Simons back as a good asset.

Pels, Lakers or Suns.

Darkhorse? Hawks, especially if/when they lose Capela..

I think KP and Okongwu is a good fit. You could play them together in a double big lineup (KP can shoot and be a passing hub..Okongwu gives them a big who can defend out on the perimeter a bit) or rotate them in and out in single big lineups.

Any chance they can cut Niang? He’s one of the absolute last players I’d ever want to see in a Celtics uniform and I don’t know all the cap ramifications

Yeah that blows lol. But we got under the apron and I trust Brad to make the best moves for the franchise. Best of luck to KP.

Gets us under the apron but what does it do for our flexibility next year at this time? With Simons and Niang expiring plus Horford probably retiring can we more easily retool around the Jays? Is JB the next domino to fall?

Like I said, KP was going out to go under the apron.

Some here wanted to flip Simons like he is a burger patty.

People on here should be excited. Scrappy Celtics are back. This is kind of what most of the board wanted even after last year. Now all they need is to move Simons for Marcus and the board will be applauding all the way to the play in.

Knowing how Brad operates now, he's gonna end up trading with a team that's NEVER been rumored lol

Yep. He'll pull off a trade with Seattle or Vegas for future picks. Make it happen Brad.

THIS IS NOT REPORTED JUST MY OPINION
but I would assume most likely we are losing our #32 tomorrow night
and getting a future 2nd... I think that's why we'd trade picks, is that ATL wanted our pick tomorrow to complete the deal
but THIS IS MY SPECULATION

I mean, Niang averaged 10 PPG last season. 40% from 3. He's a vet. He's tough, knows how to play. And he's an expiring contract..makes an amount $8.2 mil) that can used as salary matching in a future deal.

Ever since Brad has been POBO, it seems like he's always looking for a solid backup PF, with a revolving door of guys in that spot. Niang could be a decent backup PF, if he sticks around..even if it's just for a year.

And he's a local kid, from Methuen MA. Even though I'm still kind of mad at him for grabbing JB's leg in the playoffs when he was on the Sixers.

He’s probably still getting flipped.
