Well, at least Cady Lalanne got drafted by San Antonio. Honestly, I didn't expect that... Actually, I believe the last UMass player to get drafted was Lari Ketner in 1999 by Chicago.

Christmas turned into Halloween with no candy . Not sure I have ever been more let down and disappointed by a Celtic draft

Yeah, I'm beginning to doubt we have deals in place actually. We might have to sell AB pretty low. Or maybe that Smart + picks for Noel - thing is back in business now.. I'd be okay with that of Roozier pans out. Seems like DA and Brad have pretty high hopes for him to pan out.

It's seems that way.
Let's just hope that the teams won't have too low opinion about our players and won't use too much the situation that we simply have to trade some of our guards... Or maybe we will just stash them somewhere in Europe.

Danny Ainge on Tucher and Rich:

-I'm tired, not frustrated
-we wanted to move up, it was close, but it didn't happen because we didn't want to overspend
-we were chasing one particular player
-draft day is time when future picks are least valuable because people fall in love with specific players
-Rozier WAS NOT going in the second round, but in the next five picks after our
-we thought Rozier was the best basketball player available
-a lot time before the training camp
-we tried to reach into top 3, but knew it wouldn't happen
-we talked with every team 1-15
-teams wanted to take a guy they liked, that's the reason we couldn't trade up
-everybody is looking for a transcendent player, reality checks come after the summer league
-a lot of teams have pressure to win right away, it's not smart to trade picks like 2019 today
-Danny doesn't feel he tries to bamboozle other teams, teams have different perspective and want different things
-he was offering too much for a player he wanted and he's amazed the teams didn't take it
-he started to respond to F grade, but was interrupted
-he believes BPA is the right way, because you just can't assume your need will be filled in the draft
-he understands Rozier was not very high on popular boards, but was rising due to workouts
-PHO drafted Nash and Marion and they were booed at the draft
-Hunter is long, clever with the ball, good shooter, Cs are excited
-we're trying to make FA splash, but we like our young players and we'd be OK if it doesn't happen

General goddamned principle. Taking a guy that has NO chance of making the team over a guy with at least some potential. Kris Clack over Ginobili comes to mind. He might stay in Europe? So? Still no worse than Clack or a 6th string pg like Thornton. Wtf was the upside of Jr giddens. Since thinks he's a damn genius finding these diamonds in the rough who still only have the upside of a 12th man.

This is just an awful pick. I believe it shows that Ainge is still gun shy over Euros.

Is there maybe possibly just a tiny bit of a chance that Ainge didn't like any of the Euros available at 45 and preferred Thornton?

So, to go from 16 to 9, the Hornets wanted four first round picks and said no, then drafted Frank Kaminsky.

OK. Stupid is as stupid does for a team going nowhere.

I understand your thought process but what is this guy's ceiling Paul Pressey's replacement? Too conservative an approach with the 45th pick in the draft when they had already drafted a similar player at 16.

Book it

Didn't Clippers trade 1st overall pick to Cavs couple years ago?

I rather give them Thomas.

Thomas doesnt have a lot of value thats why Suns signed him for so cheap and Celtics got him for so cheap.

yup - they traded an unprotected 1st rounder to move Baron Davis' contract. At the time, they were pretty well locked into spot 6-10, and were playing the odds. Well, it turned into the 1st overall and that turned into Kyrie.

Horrible draft by Ainge.. absolutely horrible and the decision to try and make the playoffs this year looks foolish. Pointless. We're stuck with the same core and have to overpay in free agency to bring in semi-good talent.

After the draft, Danny said the plan is to add two rookies on the roster. We drafted four and he said they might buy another pick in the 2nd round - my guess it was for Holmes.

Thornton and Holmes are a lock to go to Europe/Maine, but I doubt Mickey would except that. If I am not mistaken, teams have to tender a one year offer sheet to a 2nd round pick by September - otherwise it loses that player’s draft rights.

Mickey was a borderline 1st round prospect, why would he go to Europe when there will be teams willing to give him at least 1 year of guaranteed money?

Call me crazy but I think Hunter won't be on the team in October. I think Rozier and Mickey were the guys C's wanted, Hunter was just to good to pass on at #28.
