Ainge believes Boston is a title contender as currently constituted. The Celtics took the Cavaliers to Game 7 of the Eastern Conference finals before bowing despite playing without stars Irving and Gordon Hayward.

"Yes," Ainge said when asked if Boston is a title contender with this roster. "I felt like we were a title contender last year in training camp. I didn't think we were the favorites, but I felt like we were a contender."

Seems like they believe they are a championship currently, i think so too ,but i believe they are still one more star player away from winning it all. Maybe the team can prove me wrong.

You offer 3/36 so you have control of him for three seasons, and not one.

What makes the warriors great is because they are always looking for ways to get better to improve the team. They didn't have to get Demarcus Cousins but they did. Speaking for myself, i will always believe that the celtics are missing one more star player in order to compete for championships. As long as i am a celtics fan, i want them to find ways to improve the team, to getter better.
Part of the reason Golden State can maintain their success is because many of their key players have willingly taken less than market value to help the roster.

Smart certainly is within his rights to demand every last penny, but beating Golden State without any Durant style discounts is going to be quite challenging.

I understand the theory. I just don't want him a part of the core rotation on a championship team for 3 years. I know you disagree.

There's not another Durant out there but they might get Al or Kyrie to take a haircut if they win it all or look like they will.

celtics always find a ways to prove us wrong. Watch them go to the finals, and will it all. Whenever you doubt them, they prove you wrong. All the time. I am done doing that. Go Celtics.

From what I heard Cousins had NO suitors so called GS and The C's and offered to play on a one year prove it so this narratiive is fiction to me.

In my opinion Smart was much more impactful than Morris without question and likely Baynes as well

Wouldn't have beaten Philly without Baines. Smart probably yes.

We had a good chance of not getting past the Bucks if Smart didn't return in time. The team was looking flat as a pancake.

Two different ways to say the same thing. Just a colloquialism. If it's part of your vernacular it's actually one word vs. 2.

Fair but again I think the Smart shut down Giannis narrative is so obviously wrong.

AD being traded. He'll sign the supermax and stay. He's another guy like KG. Won't leave until the next contract in his 30's.
