Open? Golden state will take a step back. Nobody is beating the lakers next year out in the west. Let’s see how they fill out the roster but i don’t see anyone beating them.

Right, this is the common perception but I disagree with it.

Vogel's coaching is suspect, LeBron's has played crazy minutes and had his first real injury last year, AD has never been in a big moment, and Kawhi also has had health issues. They won't have money (or time pretty soon) to sign much of a supporting cast.

Then in the West you've got a bunch of other teams that have had more stability, youth and depth and will be coming for them. If Klay is healthy by the playoffs, Golden State will still be a force to be reckoned with.

You’re grasping with what ifs scenario with the lakers. Again lebron won’t have to carry the load. He will have two superstars with him. They will fill out the roster. It’s not even fair.

It's like they say....

Offer Noah the vet min and call this a very successful off-season.

A few days ago seemed so bleak losing Kyrie/Horford, but now here we are with Kemba Walker and a rebounding machine in Kanter. I can't wait to watch this team!

Fills a void, but doesn't improve us and is a habitually-disruptive cancer. Anyone who would deal with that from a 3rd rate role player after last season is out of their minds. And with no other vets to keep him in line? Yeah, great call.

Brad certainly not the guy to keep him in line lol.

Most people give him a pass because he's already a 2x NBA championship. He can "do whatever he wants."

I say it's a weak move regardless.

The Celtics can't pay Boogie, so it's moot.

They'll play center by committee and do just fine. They'll play some "postitionless" lineups with Grant Williams at center. They'll give Timelord a chance to develop. They'll use Theis and Yabu (unless they've traded him first) against certain matchups, and of course Kanter against other matchups. Maybe they'll pick up a guy like Willy Hernangomez in the Rozier sign and trade. Maybe Tacko Fall wins a roster spot.

The problem with guys like Richaun Holmes is that those guys are fighting for minutes. Kanter is more of an established player who won't disrupt chemistry. Stevens is back to having the kind of team that he knows how to coach.

It ruins the product. Don’t you get that? If the warriors had been healthy you think the raptors win the title? We would be lamenting another warriors championship.
But you want to see them torn down. Obviously Leonard joining LeBron and Davis is pretty scary but there will be drama. LeBron's clock is ticking what happens when he wants roster moves midseason and they tell him there is no juice for a deal?

Disagree man. Superteams arent fun and theres a reason ratings were down last year. Inevitability ruins the reason to watch

Hating them is part of it. There was no inevitability to last year right? There is always the next move the rising star that is the NBA.

This just sounds like you're saying our front court is going to be decimated next season. (but you're saying it in a much nicer way)

I think it would be between Lebron going to Miami and Durant to GSW. He’s going to a better team than that Heat team but not to a 73-9 record breaking champion team

I mean Boogie is a better player than Kanter however they both don't play defense and cousins will likely cost more so the team by default or choice made the right decision.

I think I understand your point re max salaries. My retort is teams like the Lakers print money. I don't know how much salary they could afford if they were winning championships, but I would guess more than anyone else.
A hard, NFL style cap would solve the problem. Pay any individual what you want, but everyone has X budget. It would be an interesting experiment.

I liked Looney but Kanter is a more productive player on a lesser contract. I think Boston likes Robert Williams better than both of them and that is a good thing.

He wouldn't be meeting with them otherwise. I gotta make the lakers my #2 team like when I was a kid, hating them is too unhealthy
