I'm only a casual UFC fan these days but apparently they are moving from ESPN to Paramount, and getting rid of pay-per-views.

Paramount Skydance on Monday announced a seven-year media rights agreement with TKO Group under which Paramount+ will become the exclusive home of all UFC events in the U.S. — pulling the mixed martial arts events from ESPN. Disney’s ESPN had secured a deal that, starting in 2019, featured the MMA promoter’s matchups on TV and pay-per-view in ESPN+.

Starting in 2026, Paramount will exclusively distribute UFC’s full slate of 13 annual marquee numbered events and 30 Fight Nights via the Paramount+ streaming platform. Select numbered UFC events will be simulcast on CBS, according to the companies.

As part of the agreement, UFC and Paramount will move away from UFC’s existing pay-per-view model — and instead, the events will be available at no additional cost to Paramount+’s U.S. subscribers. This shift in distribution strategy “will unlock greater accessibility and discoverability for sports fans and provide an important catalyst for driving engagement and further subscriber growth for Paramount+,” Paramount said.

Stockton turned into a grumpy old man.

It may be a tough season as far as wins go for the C's for certain fans, but imagine being a 76ers' fan??

Out of all the guys that have been waived and stretch, he should have been the first.

10yrs at 24mil per year ain't too shabby for the pocket and the teams cap.

Haywood Highsmith just got dumped by the Heat to duck the tax. I like him as a 9-10 rotation guy. Good pickup for BKN and they get a 2nd (for a fake future 2nd)

That's because Miami has already conceded to the fact that they're going nowhere with what they have.

Heat are trying to win in the future.

They're doing a natural tank job.

I don’t like Embiid’s flopping but I’ve always had a soft spot for the guy. Such a shame his career turned out the way it did.

Stockton can say what he wants after playing all 82 games in 16 of his 19 seasons, and only missing 22 games total. His 182 playoff games played ranks 17th all time, and he never missed the playoffs in any season, nor missed a playoff game due to injury. And for those who don't know, he played hard, and dirty. Gary Payton calls him his toughest matchup.

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

1) He played well,
2) Was drafted over 40 years ago.
3) He couldn't play in today's NBA.

AND . . .

4) He Never Won a Championship.

5) John Stockton can sit down.

Agree he's one of the actual old tough guys he can say what he wants.

Though a valid counter point is his boy Anton Watson was a soft ingrate who got bounced in record time so what does he know (unless that's who he's complaining about then carry on Mr. Stockton).

I'm sure Larry Bird echoes Stockton's thoughts in private and no one can impugn his credentials...

Maybe.
But Bird had to retired early, due to injury (whether on or off the court).

The Tech & Medicine now are quite different.
Different eras; different things of importance.

John Stockton one of the all-time greats, no doubt about that.

But part of the reason why he was so durable is due to the fact that he's a below the rim guy.

Players who are super athletic and go high up in the air are the ones prone to injury.

CP3 played 82 games at the age of 39-40 last season.

We all know CP3's style of play.

In today's NBA, a lot of guys are super strong and super athletic.

It's the right thing to do to resort to load management.

The muscles can be strengthened through conditioning and workouts.

But tendons, ligaments, and cartilage are constants, they cannot be made stronger.

So when athletes are getting bigger, stronger, and faster, the tendons, ligaments, and cartilage remain the same.

Nah. Larry has actually said things that run to the opposite - today's guys are way better than old guys, etc. I doubt he thinks like Stockton on this stuff.

Would imagine that Celtics fans to be more likely to respect the history of the game, but so it goes. Stockton could easily be one of the best PGs in any era, including today.
