I just don't see it. Love only has an additional year contact over George and George is the better player. Go big or go home. No way we help the cavs improve

Well, someone other than the Celtics will be part of the Indy - Cavs deal then, and Cleveland will improve any ways - a little Love is better than no Love at all! Or maybe this is all a smokescreen by the Pacers to raise the price on a PG to Boston deal?

IMO George goes to the Lakers this season .Not a chance they let him end up on the Cavs

Stephen A Smith is fully on the Butler to the Celtics bandwagon I see. He was just talking about it on TV

So do I.

But we need to recognize what that article implies, which is that he's likely closer to his ceiling already than less hard-working players of the same age who don't come from basketball families.

i love you bigfoot but man i just dont see it

Ainge has coveted him for a while- he fills large Celtics needs of rebounding and scoring - and if not the Celtics, someone else will participate in the trade - would you rather overpay for Butler or acquire Love at what should be a reasonable price?

and that if we are getting attached to him Ainge will just trade out anyway.

Whelp okay...if Davis comes next year it makes sense. Otherwise it seems like a waste to do this now.

I know this isn't about the #3 pick but DraftExpress has Ivan Rabb going at the end of the 1st round. Am I the only one that would be interested in making a small trade to take a flier on this guy? He reminds me of Skal Labissiere last year in a way because he was projected to be going higher as a freshmen and now it looks like he's falling hard.

Sorry for the repeat.

Edit - O'Connor needs to get a steady cam for crying out loud! Need a Dramamine to get through that clip...

In other news I might just be selling three tickets to the draft, anyone know people in Philly who might be interested?

He must be who Wyc was referring to when he said we'll only trade the #1 pick for "the second coming". Wyc can see the future!

I guess PG is really intent on going to LA if we are going after Butler

George wants to play for the Lakers but I think the Lakers understand if he traded to the cavs he won't leave.Personally, I think Geroge is going to end up on the cavs,

Kind of damned if we do, damned if we don't right now on George.

If he goes to the Cavs, a 5% chance of beating them gets severely diminished.

If he goes to the Lakers, it shoots some of the value of the LAL/SAC pick.

Screw George right now lol.

I come here in peace having been a Fox fan throughout this process - and not having watched Fultz play as I suspect is the case of many of us on the East Coast.

Cleveland has nothing to offer George except playing with LeBron. That's big. But they have no draft picks and no players that will make Indiana competitive - Love (no), Tristian Thompson (no), Kyrie Irving (no), JR Smith (no).

I don't know how they would make the numbers work to re-sign Georges in June 2018. But there's really no incentive in trading (giving) George to Cleveland (other than Cleveland's 2021 and 2023 picks) other than pull a Hinkie. Complete tank for the next three years.

Sure the Celtics should offer something, but if I were the Pacers I would insist on picks…and more picks if they're asked to take on payroll. Without George, they won't be competitive for another three, four or five years soonest.

They're in almost exactly the same situation - but for different reasons - that the Sixers were with Andrew Bynum.

I would think the wisest course moving forward for the Celtics since Ainge rolled the dice with the signing Horford (he had hoped for Durant) is to deal for Jimmy Butler. Chicago will try to extort more than two picks and a player. But they hold no cards either. They are going nowhere fast. Wade's days are numbered. Rondo's trick or treat. Get Chicago to throw in Robin Lopez to solve your center problem. And re-sign Butler before June 2020 to go along with your excellent core - which Ainge, apparently, has committed to.

Try to hold on to the Memphis and Clippers picks. They could be good.

Aha.. Wyc and Danny did say that second coming line, didn't they?

Jesus. Look, I like Tatum and Jackson but after having Fultz within reach this is tremendously disappointing to me unless we get George for pennies on the dollar.

I believed Stephen a until he said we can get Hayward after. Wasn't it already proven that the Celtics can't trade for Butler then sign a FA. They would need to sign the FA first. Unless that's just George ?

Rabb is closer to a less fit Bobby Portis. Skal slid because he underwhelmed, he's also a different player. Rabb has been good in college, just not very good. He's an excellent rebounder - his ceiling has been descending for the last two years, he'd have to show unusual Avery Bradley ish persistent improvement to be really interesting. If he's there at 37, sure. I like Ike Anigbogu as a Biyombo-ish long term prospect.
