If I'm Ainge, I call up the Suns and offer them Rozier, Young, Lee's expiring deal, and the Mavs pick in exchange for Bledsoe's wonky knee. Gotta offer them some sort of immediate help to keep them from bottoming out......although Lee might actually help them out with that.

No, this will be Bledsoe's third knee operation in 4 years. He's Brandon Roy waiting to happen.

Lee and a couple of second rounders to take Tyson Chandler off their hands.

That makes Phoenix worse though, which lowers the value of our Brooklyn pick. I'm more interested in offering them some immediate help in the hopes that they win more games than the Nets.

As for Bledsoe - yeah, he looks like he might be done. However, if he isn't, then the Celtics pick up a stud PG with only 2 years left on his deal. Sure, it screws up the cap space this off season, but I'm still of the opinion that the Cs won't be able to even get Kevin Durant to pick up the phone.

I'm not sure Bledsoe is a stud. He's been extremely inconsistent during his time in Phoenix.

He was last year, but 2 months in this year, and he's looked pretty good IMO. 20 games out of 31 with over +20 points.

I'm guessing most of you missed that beautiful finale in Orlando. For those who missed it, my recap is up.

Beat the heck out of watching us get pwned by a 5-win Laker squad.

If the Lakers righted their capsized vessel last night and go on to pick up a couple of more wins, it's an outsource-tank triumph.

If they end one game better than Brooklyn on April 13, that loss will be the MVG of the year.

I gave up on MIN pick being a 1st rounder. They are very close to the playoffs, even with this record, but they just don't win enough winnable games. Minnesota has had only 19th hardest schedule so far, which means they will likely cement the non-playoff status in near future.
And the 6-10 teams on the West have abysmal records, so being top 12 protected doesn't mean squat.

The Warriors lose to Dallas, but defeat Houston. With Wiggins not improving much the Minnesota pick doesn't look good. I hope it's a good second rounder.

The Lakers loss should tell us we're far too inconsistent. Unless a good Center is available I'm keeping the draft picks.

Big pick day today. Nets-Celtics mega-pick game and then Dallas on the second half of a back to back against the Pels.

Didn't see it but looks like Dallas had an ugly night last night losing to Miami.

At this point I'd be happy if the Dallas pick ends up at 16.

With the Lakers playing the Suns and the Kings in 2 of their next 3, these two games against Brooklyn are absolute must win games.

Pels-Dallas home and home tonight and Wednesday is pretty huge all around too. Pels are off in between while Dallas has the Kings Tuesday so will get NO on the wrong half of the back to back both times. Schedule breaks in our favor this time.

Huge week in pick-land overall lol.

Decided to look a bit into the future: How crazy is this---Brooklyn plays 18 of their last 26 games of the season on the road starting on February 23rd where they have a 9 game road trip including the 1st seven on the West Coast.

Like that. They beat the Sixers and are now 2 wins behind the Nets. LA could win their next one vs. the Suns and be one back (as long as the Celtics do their job).

After the Deadline that team is going to be awful. I can't see them winning much at all. They'll trade off some guys and fall apart the rest of the way. That is the hope at least!

One of the reasons I've been a proponent of exploring a Brook Lopez for one of the picks back, is that we don't know how they will react longer term and therefore two great picks would trump 3 good picks and you get a talented All Star center that could be a draw for a free agent. I heard a Brooklyn writer on WFAN said in his opinion the Nets should still tear it down and trade Lopez and Young etc for someone else's high picks and start over. That would be tremendous if you are the Celtics.
But that is his thought - he doesn't personally go through the PR nightmare of being bad, having no chance of drawing anyone and handing over very high picks to the Celtics in the process. So since the Nets are in an unprecented position, they may actually be buyers at the trade deadline of players from other non-contendors being let go. In effect they could be behaving like a playoff team and then promising the guys they go after playing time and a contract next year.
Brad Stevens on fans who want the Celtics to tank: "I don’t think they’ll like me all that much then."

I just don't see a scenario in the near future where the Nets will trade with the Celtics. For any reason. Reminds me of the Love to Boston rumors a couple of years ago. There seemed to be fear of trading with Boston after getting fleeced for KG.

Here's the caveat: I don't want anything to do with Brook Lopez, at all. Skilled? Yes, when he's on the court, and that hasn't happened consistently over the past 4-5 years. On top of that his injuries are ones that can be devastating to a 7fter. I'd rather overpay for Whiteside, then take on Lopez.

I also don't agree that the Nets are going to be buyers because they have nothing to offer. Picks? nope we have them. Young talent? Nope. What do they have to offer these selling teams? They can probably get more from actual playoff contenders who are making a play for the playoffs?

I mean, there could be as many as 20 "buying" teams this year because of the weird parity.
