Absoultely gutted for Nurkic, dude was starting to hit his best form.
Same injury as Hayward but what’s worse is it will be a longer recovery physically & mentally for him due to his weight & the fact that he relies on that lift to the basket to do his job. Took Hayward until the all star break to feel strong enough to jump to the basket & hes 25 kilos lighter.
Portland are lucky they have Kanter but that’s a huge loss not only this year but next as well.

NBA TV/Players Only finally did something right by not showing the replay of the injury. Kudos to the producer. Prayer up for Nurkic. What a huge blow to the Blazers.

Hopefully Nurkic gets a full recovery. That was a terrible injury.

But I'm curious to see what they do in the postseason. Budzenholer's ATL teams always breezed threw the regular season but were mediocre once opponents were actually game planning against them in the postseason.

They are my current pick to win the east the last few weeks or so. Most have issues picking an east winner. I decided it's the Bucks to lose. They are just too good defensively and the offense can struggle from time to time but I think the shots will fall enough for them.

Giannis though, is pretty spectacular.

Also to note, they would have homecourt in the finals.

Stephen A., Max and others calling out and Goofing on Bron Bron

Post#1789 » by rmal8852 » Wed Mar 27, 2019 3:24 am

This video speaks for itself.

Stephen A. especially seems fed up with insecure, controlling Bron Brons manipulative, childish ways.

If your of fan of The Chosen One, you won’t like this mock-fest, so don’t watch.

If you are sick of Le Toxic, watch it and enjoy.

Right on, Stephen A.!

How the mighty have fallen… Lots of people goofing on Bron Bron now!

About time....the narcissist that he is.

I would rather give the end of my willy a paper cut and then dip it in vinegar than listen to Stephen A Smith.

That being said, I am all for anyone dumping on James.

If the Bucks can take out so easily a Harden/CP backcourt without Brogdon, they have no problem.
They deserved that #1 seed and Giannis was the MVP.
They will have trouble if they face the Heat or the Hornets though. Giannis will get his but the rest can't match miami's physicality(especially Lopez against Adebayo and Whiteside). And Bledsoe doesn't win the matchup vs Kemba.
With any of Brooklyn/Detroit/Orlando, they will probably sweep.
Toronto should probably avoid Detroit. Lots of things around this matchup not in their favor.
They have Kawhi ofc. But i have the feeling Blake is about to make great playoffs. And they traded out the guy(Valanciunas) that was giving Drummond trouble. And Casey knows them.
Sixers will have problem with Brooklyn/Orlando. Like they do with any team capable of getting hot from 3. Vucevic also always seem to hold his ground against Embiid.

The East will have better playoffs than the West.

Awful, Nurkic is one of my favorite players in the entire league.

In more optimistic interesting injury news - can find the ESPN link - apparently Porzingis is grading out better on several athletic measures now than he was before his injury.

Bucks defensive strategy vs. Harden broken down.

https://www.sbnation.com/2019/1/10/18176458/rockets-bucks-james-harden-defense-strategy-breakdown

Have we seen this before?
Yes, though not to this extreme. San Antonio employed an exaggerated drop coverage like this to win four of the last five games of their 2017 second-round playoff series. They, too, baited Harden to drive and finish over length, though they were not as aggressive forcing him right. Toronto took that approach to yet another level in a regular-season game last year.

Neither team’s scheme was quite as elaborate, but both had the same idea as the Bucks. The goal was to shut off Harden’s passing options and make him finish over length over and over again.

They’ll have a problem in the later rounds, if brogdon isn’t back healthy. They are a very good defensive team but not much shooting. We need a rim protector if we face them, else giannis would have his way inside. Heck, even bledsoe could just drive inside like what sexton did earlier.

Good stuff.

Related: Why I think the suggestion that Stevens should just let Kyrie do his thing won't work, at least not against high-level competition. Defenses are too smart and locked in on the best players during the playoffs. Our other guys esp Horford, Tatum, and Hayward have to step up and make plays when the ball swings to them. If we ever face the Bucks, this is the type of defense Kyrie would face without Lebron on his side. Expect trapping, double teams, lengthy defenders, etc.

Kyrie is a willing passer, if they trap or double team him, he'll make the right play. it's nothing new to him either, he faced that even in Cleveland. But other guys have to play within their roles, and execute the game plan. That's been the problem all season.

Kyrie also plays differently than Harden, he is less predictable. Bucks have defended Harden and Rockets the way they did, because they know they don't want to take mid range shots. Kyrie will take and make those shots, and so will Horford. Celtics have the perfect weapons to hurt that Bucks defense, but they need to play unselfish basketball. Stevens needs to demand that, and go with players that are willing to execute the game plan.
