Reporting on signings and actual figures have been inconsistent, incomplete, or shoddy. But yeah, with the very little cap space left (whatever that amount is), it's merely for a rookie signing for more than two years. That is if we use the 15th spot on someone before officially signing Kanter, Theis, and Wanamaker. If it's for a vet, it can come later.

Or we are using the money to claim Wood.

Not enough cap space to do that. We can sign him to veteran's minimum though once he clears waivers. If interest is mutual.

What are the odds it's not another guard?

Given that our cap space is for slightly above the rookie minimum, I’m guessing we are looking to sign a rookie to a 4 year deal.

Please let it be Mr. Fall, with two team options.

Okay, Wood above Fall in priority.

People are very optimistic thinking Jaylen could put up 25/5/5 on 47% shooting like Beal just did in a few years.

I'm expecting Ainge and the Celtics to clean up the rest of their summer activities today. Maybe signing a mystery player and then signing Kanter, Theis and Wanamaker. Especially with Kemba's press conference tomorrow. Today should be a heavy Celtics news day.

Me too.
Beal is good and better than Jaylen right now but I see Jaylen's most probable development curve being in line with Beal's, with a chance to surpass him. They are different players in that Beal is a pure guard with better shooting and assist numbers where Jaylen is a pure wing with superior rebounding, defense, and strength/athleticism.
One underrated aspect of Jaylen's game is that he shows up for big games and he has shown the "it" factor to get hot and carry a team for stretches. The ability to seize the moment and rise to the occasion is a trait that all great players share and I believe Jaylen has it.
Jaylen vs. Beal Advanced Stats through 3 seasons:
https://www.basketball-reference.com/play-index/pcm_finder.fcgi?request=1&sum=1&player_id1_select=Jaylen+Brown&y1=2019&player_id1=brownja02&idx=players&player_id2_hint=Bradley+Beal&player_id2_select=Bradley+Beal&y2=2015&player_id2=bealbr01&idx=players#stats-advanced::none
Gimme Beal or someone established. Bye bye jaylen. Love to be wrong. Don’t see it with brown. Advanced stats or not. We have a 29 year old in kemba on a max and Hayward close to 30 on a max- if you can get a perennial all star Beal or whoever using jaylen- do it.
Especially with the nba landscape as is currently. Brown is going to go from a guy with great upside and potential to 30 million a year underachiever within 12 months.
Not gonna get in a back and forth here as we have done this countless times but we have 1 foundational blue chip build around prospect- Tatum.
I will gladly be wrong because it means he’s showing out but brown has and will continue to be overrated here. I hope he proves me otherwise.
Fair points. We'd be better with Beal next year and don't get me wrong, part of me would be excited if we traded for him. I certainly don't want to end up with next Andrew Wiggins - overpaid max wing who never reached his potential. Wouldn't want to give up too much additional value beyond Jaylen tho.

No possible 48 hours to see if Wood clears waivers?

Why do we care about Christian Wood?
He's not that great a player. Plus he'd be a 15th man and all.

Yeah, 3 options. Waters for 4. Tacko 2 way.
Strus for 4, Tacko 2 way.
Tacko for 4. Waters/Strus 2 way.

So, can it be done in a single day? First, Waters on a 4yr deal, then Tacko to a 2 way and finally adding Kanter, Theis and Wanamaker?
Get it done, Danny. Then Kemba presser and off to well deserved holidays

Waters already signed a two-way so I’m guessing we dont use the space on him. Likely Javonte Green or Tacko. Given Himmelsbach’s reportinng, Im guessing Green.

I'd prefer Strus and Tacko over Strus and Green. Strus can shoot and it's become a shooter's league. Green's driving to the rim and dunks won't exactly work in the regular season like it did in summer league.
