If I had to guess, I would say that Romeo moved up the chart one spot over Neismith. Both of them moved up in front of Richardson. Shroeder is still on the second team (unless coach wants to go with Smart and Shroeder together, which I kind of doubt), but he's right behind Smart, so Smart better be, well smart, in what he does on the floor. I do see Shroeder in front of Payton for now. Grant has dropped down to the 9th or 10th position (I think he's still on the second team, but close to falling into the third team).
I also see Houser working his way up the chart quickly if he keeps hitting from deep the way he has been. That kind of shooting just can't be ignored. In fact I can see by the end of the year both Houser and Pritchard each shooting in the mid 40% range from three.

I still don't really know who will start between Horford and Rob, and it's possible that they both might be out there.
For me, the biggest question is who will be the fifth man? Will we go with two bigs (Al and Rob)? Will we go with two guards (Smart and Dennis)? Or will one of the young guns (most likely Romeo or perhaps Pritchard) actually get the day one starting role? or will there be a surprise fifth starter?
Can't wait to find out.

I’ll be curious where we land on all of this by the playoffs. Until then, I’m expecting a steady stream of hopefully minor injuries and Covid interruptions, plus lineup experimentation, to keep it in relatively frequent flux.

If two or three of Rob, Payton, Romeo and Nesmith can establish themselves as legit starter caliber players this season, we’ll be in business.

Parker waived. Good. He's not anything I want to see on the court this year.

The Jabari news is a surprise to me. I figured he'd be a nice smart vet to have on the bench and give us a scoring punch from time to time.

This now opens a roster spot but they already waived the other guys who were fighting for it. I'm thinking Brad must have his eye on someone else who was just wived by another team. Patrick Patterson, Marquis Chriss, Kris Dunn, Avery Bradley, Jordan Bell, Quinn Cook, Dante Exum, and Harry Giles (among others) are all currently available.

I do enjoy the intrigue of seeing what Brad has up his sleeve next after this Jabari release.

Giles was done before he even got to Duke. He had two torn ACLs already. It's not going to happen for him.

I am still concerned Boston doesn't have a legit 4 man. Tatum can play there, yes, But unless IME makes an 180, he is not playing much there. Horford is a center playing some time there. Grant Williams is 6-6 with a 12 inch vert. Juancho is OK at best, but can't make shots at worst. My binkie Hauser is a great shooter, BUT NOT a 4 man.

We will have 17 man roster and NOT a single "legit" 4 man.

That has to be addressed..

The good news is Brad can address that issue until January or February.

I'm expecting some kind of 2 for 1 or 3 for 1 trade in the near future.

Yes, but I don't think the Celts need to wait that long.

The Celtic players who signed with the Celts are eligible to be traded in December.

Marcus Smart can be traded January.

Right now I think the Celts have too many players who are "OK".

Brad needs to upgrade by swapping the "OK" players for one great player.

I’ve seen flashes from him that made him the consensus #1 guy when he was a junior but he’s never gotten the minutes to get consistency or momentum and maybe injuries or conditioning has played a role in that. Or maybe he’s a knucklehead. I wouldn’t mind picking him up because we need size and if it keeps Tatum happy all the better

So if another team wanted our great players for their OK players you would do that swap? I would not. It's not so easy.

talk of roster additions are all over the place, so I will add this here as well. But players who are not signed at this moment that I would like to look at.

checking the waiver wire, notable 4/5 man players not signed (I don't think)

Luka Samanic, Daniel Oturu, Tyler Bey, Jordan Bell, Luke Kornet, Jahill Okafor, Harry Giles.

Would love a real good look at any of the Bolded players.

It's not easy, but it can be done.

Ainge was able to get Fournier for Jeff Teague and two 2nd round picks.

I'm not talking about getting Bradley Beal or a superstar player, just someone who can be a starter on the Celtics.
