Ray you were a FA so you had every right to go to Miami
I'm disappointed but I'm still glad you came to our franchise and helped us get Number 17
Good luck (but don't be too good cause we need to beat Miami)

he's just a double crosser....the team had a plan and he just screwed us.....plain and simple.....

This could also be PR damage control too - teams tend to release info that paints them in a favorable light - that contract request vs. his market and eventual contract is rediculously uneven

I don't get why people are so crestfallen about this. Ray is on the downside. We get from obligations to him just in the nick of time. What he used to be he just isn't anymore. I wouldn't be surprised if this hurt the heat, as Ray is incredibly high maintainance. Everyone always points the finger at Rondo in the Ray-Rondo conflict-but I will maintain forever it was 100% Ray's fault that he had such a bad relationship with him. Rondo singlehandely stretched Rays career and I think RAy is going to realize how lucky he is when he realizes the Heat aren't going to run the offense for him. I don't think even LeBron can run the peek a boo offense.

Come on Ray, 3yr/27mil? Get outta here with that delusional mind frame. Good riddance.

Not delusional at all. If he is asking for that money he obviously had no desire to play here at all. He knew all along he was going to play for the heat.

....That makes absolutely no sense.

He was trying to squeeze more money out of Boston, and obviously Ainge didn't budge.

So you're saying if Ainge did offer Allen that ridiculous contract, Allen would've said no? C'mon man...

He's a good fit for the Heat imo. They should be favorites to win it again, and Ray Allen only improves their odds. I do think we were better with a healthy Bradley than with Ray Allen last season though, just because of improved defense. With the caveat that that was for a limited portion of the season. It's more of a gain for the Heat than a loss for the Celtics.

There is a reason why Ray Allen was going through his routines alone for the majority of his career

3 years 27 mil ohhhhhhhhhhhhh k Ray go take a dip in the Atlantic

I think the truth is that Ray's ego took way too many hits in Boston since the time he got here until now. There were a lot of them.

They really have no idea yet. They just bought a tricked out high mileage Mercedes with a junk engine and a faulty computer. They're all gawking over the paint job while it sits in the garage. Get back to us after you run that thing on the highway for a few months.

What are the chances Ainge could use Kristic in an S&T?

You're kidding right? Allen is not going to be a cornerstone like he was here where they needed him to carry the scoring load every night. Look at what Miller and Battier did in the playoffs. Allen is a better shooter than both of those guys. If those guys were killing teams what do you think Allen will do? The heat are absolutely going to win a title next season.

Heres the issue.

If the heat beat a team on a buzzer beater over the next three seasons do you know who likely hits it?

Ray allen.

LBJ just gained a serious weapon to pass to when he gets doubled and they refuse to sag off of wade.

^^You're missing the point. Ray knew the celtics would never agree to that number so asking for it was a way to make up a reason why he wouldn't sign here.

That being said, teams do tend to leak info at times like this that make the player look unreasonable or at fault. Red Sox have a long history of it.

So Ray Allen is now an awful player who will have no impact whatsoever? Are you sure we're talking about the same guy that everyone here was dying to resign 2 hours ago?

I hope the people who are **** on Ray don't ever brag about Banner 17 again, because we wouldn't have it without Ray.

This, I would rather KG be at the 4 with a true C and have that C not be named Melo until at least after the all star break.

Lost a ton of respect for Ray Allen today. Ray has become an Eddie Curry ring chaser.

I still think you need to shut down the "other guys" on the Heat. Clearly easier said than done, but we did a piss poor job of leaving those scrubs wide open on the 3 point line all series.

Lebron/Wade can and should score points, they are fantastic players. Those other douchebags? Stick em like glue. If we leave Battier/Traytor Allen wide open we deserve to lose every time.

He's 37, coming off of ankle surgery, and still looks like he's running in quicksand. Hope Miami has fun running the peek-a-boo offense.
