At least we don’t have a bunch of guys trying to pump up their, ahem, insecurities by starting a thread telling you to take an L.

Whose that

There was a cringeworthy thread last season that died right around the time you joined (it looks like). A few people taking a victory lap and insisting other posters, who had been against the signing, take “L’s” because Marcus Smart appeared to be living up to the first few months of his contract.

To be fair, I'll still victory lap on that lol. One of the better contracts in the league now.

How could he possibly have more upside than brown? and relative to fit? Winslow had succes last year in Miami towards the end of the season playing point believe it or not.

I mean be low on brown but I’m talking about moving him for allstars not disappointments

I’ll pass on Winslow as well! I agree with this, you trade Brown for an all star, not some role player who reached his ceiling.

Same. I wouldn’t be shocked if Brown ended up the best player on the team this year.

2020 MEM 1st and 2020 MIL 1st to WAS
2020 BOS 1st to IND

Tatum turns into a top 15 player and Grant Williams turns into Draymond Green by All-Star Break and you have yourself a contender.

Kemba / Beal / Tatum / G.Williams / Turner
Smart / Edwards / Ojeleye / Theis / Kanter
Wanamaker / Langford / vet / Poirier

Sign me up a billion times in a row, but god damn that's an expensive team after two years when Beal needs to get his supermax extension (assuming he's eligible) the same year Tatum is eligible for his like 5/190 contract or whatever. What are they looking at in 2021-22? Beal at 42, Kemba at 36, Tatum at 35? Hope they hit on these recent draft picks cuz they're gonna need some cheap rotation pieces. I guess it's a good problem to have.

Oh yea I lurked and remember that...ill personally take credit and say it’s no coincidence that those threads stopped and suddenly harmony and joy happens right as I joined here

Think it was Harris bc if I remember they said something along the lines of “before they dealt Harris to philly they made calls to Boston about kyrie that led no where”

We literally saw two stars pick their destinations this summer. Beal can easily nuke his value to non-Boston teams too.

I know it’s illogical but I’d feel dirty rooting for him to do this.

This has probably been out there. But, I didn't know that they had that much communication/camaraderie between them.

Remember tho with all those chips comes a greater asking price..remember it always felt like bc we had more they asked for a lot more, it used to suck.

As far as okc they have the picks but they don’t have the players outside of SGA and I doubt they’d wanna move on him now. The pelicans prob would be the team who gets him they have picks and young players but assuming Ingram is the centerpiece they have the same issue as we have with brown in a trade- he’s due an extension and I also think Gary Harris is also and he’s probably the centerpiece in a Denver trade.

The bottom line is and I’m not splitting the atom here but if he turns down the extension they have to trade him and they should do it this summer but at worst the deadline. For whatever reason I feel we would make his list of teams he would agree to long term.

Don't underestimate the persuasive (or dissuasive in this case) power of the player nowadays. "I will only re-sign in Boston. Trade your assets at your own risk. But you're getting me as a rental."

Can he come here and immediately be extended and or can Washington extend him and flip him to us or what’s the waiting period?

Don't quote me on this. If he doesn't waive his trade bonus, I think we can extend him immediately after the trade.
If we want the full extension (3 yrs on top of the two left), Wizards can extend him but can't trade him for another six months.

So the immediate extension would be just 3 years at 111? In this hypothetical?

Like I said, I figured that Ainge was going to go to Camp with 14 guys on the Regular roster.
He's dangling that 15th Contract.

We'll likely have 20-Players in Training Camp. We'll acquire 3 more Exhibit 10's.
And they'll compete for the NBA spot, as well as the 2 x Two-Ways.
Even though we already have 2 x Two-Ways, they can be waived at any time, or elevated to an NBA Contract.

Just to add to your point. Westbrook wanted to play with harden, and so OKC tried to do a solid for their franchise player. Along a similar line, if Beal wants to play in Boston, I'm sure the wizards would do their best to make it happen. Players and agents notice that.

Nah, Kanter is gonna foul him and imprint the 11 from his jersey on his forehead.

Around $112M I think. 120% of salary of current contract's last year then 8% raises, IINM.
