True, you CAN piece together something, it's just harder doing those 3 for 1s mid-season and making it all work. I'm not ready to go full trade checker nerd quite this early in the season, though. Come Dec, I'll be there. 8-)

My view on trades is that there's no trade this season that is all of:
-- LIkely to be possible.
-- Likely to be attractive.
-- Significant enough to be worth discussing.

If an interesting trade does happen, it will be because of positive developments, negative developments and/or availabilities that currently seem unlikely.

I'm not exactly saying an interesting trade is unlikely, just that if one happens it will be one of many possibilities that each are quite unlikely at this moment.

In particular:
-- I don't foresee the Cs going into either extreme "win now" mode or extreme rebuilding.
-- I don't foresee some other team that is into "win now" making an offer the Cs can't refuse, at least not one bigger than, for example, a late first for proven injury replacement Kanter. Recent examples of bigger win-now deals include expensive rentals (Kawhi, Butler), but what would that look like for the Cs? Hayward does great and somebody offers -- what? Nor do I see a match for the long-ago Ratliff/Mutombo deal. Someone as old as Marc Gasol would fit that model, but not anybody the Cs have.
-- So that leaves teams going into extreme rebuilding mode or otherwise auctioning off a star. But I don't think Beal will happen. I don't think Towns will happen. I don't think anybody else who'd possibly make sense for the Cs will happen either.

Ainge will look to upgrade at center, but not sure the MEM pick and Romeo can get him what they need. Can't see Walker, Tatum, Brown, Smart and Hayward going anywhere in a trade, but can see them dangling that MEM pick.

I can see one of them going if it's for a KAT...but other than that I dont see it.

Just trade for Baynes and call it a day.

If it was something in the next couple of years I’d hope for something like a much improved Tatum and Marcus for the next unhappy star wanting to move along but I just don’t think Tatum will ever be the best player offered for a superstar on his way out.
If we move Hayward I’m not sure how the team would operate. He’s our best passer. Tough job for Danny here.

I assume so. I more meant because he’s so big. Lol. I mean...rent the theater or not, he’d need special seats.
