The last two bandwagons I joined was with Abdel Nader and Carsen Edwards. For everyone's sake I'll pass on selecting a binky this year.

Appreciated. When the Carsen wagon comes in with you still driving it, it'll be sweet, sweet victory for you.

Wouldn’t shock me at all to see Carsen Edward’s become a factor this season off the bench. For his style of play and size it was bound to take some time for him to adjust to the NBA game. Especially adjusting to coming in cold off the bench. It’s possible he never adjusts and is out of the league soon, but it’s also possible that the game slows down for him and he figured it out.
Would be excellent to see Edward’s become a weapon off the bench. Some microwave offense.

Yea in that Lou Will frame he'd excel the most. Brad should run some plays that we did for IT for Carsen

DID YOU KNOW?! Payton Pritchard won the 2019-20 Bob Cousy Award. Kemba Walker won it in 2011. Mavs are the only other team with two previous winners (Brunson, Burke).

We'll be laughing about this in 3 years when Pritchard becomes the starter and "Arson Carsen" becomes that bench sparkplug we all thought he could be. Then all the Danny haters who complain about his drafting can drink a warm glass of STFU!! YEAH!!!!!!

I'm sorry I got a little too excited there...

Again, I have no idea. But definitely comes off as a meh.

I’m wrong. Far from meh. He looks like an exciting player.

It’s still early, but I liked watching him dribble the ball out there tonight.

Pritchard was something like #4 on my Big Board. I think he's got all-star upside and is Day 1 starter material. I think I called him the white Kyrie who plays defense but minus the head case. He should be starting because he's better than Teague but I doubt Brad does it. It's going to be funny watching the 95% of this board join me on the bandwagon as he becomes a fan favorite. He's really good folks. He can do it all on offense except finish above the rim and even holds his own on defense.

That fast break alley-oop to TimeLord was perfectly executed.

LOL

Not EVERY extreme view is crazy. That said, I think the Kyrie comparison fails badly.

-- There are guys who can drive the ball into the teeth of the defense and have good results doing so, unless the defense REALLY loads up to stop them. Kyrie is great at that. IT4 was great at that. Paul Pierce, in a very different way, was great at that. Nash and Rondo, in a very different way yet, were great at that.
-- Pritchard has little chance of being great at that via scoring at the rim (as in most of the examples I cited) or driving all the way to the rim and then passing (as in Nash/Rondo); he just lacks the quickness to make it reliably to the rim with good chances to produce there. And if he's going to ever be great at what we can't so easily rule out -- driving partway to the rim and scoring, e.g. via floater/teardrop/whatever -- he hasn't shown much evidence yet.
-- I doubt Pritchard's defense will ever rise above steady/serviceable, and Kyrie could play defense at that level too.

If Pritchard ever becomes an all-star, it will be because he excels at perimeter scoring and is a solid ball handler/distributer.

I can see liking Pritchard's offense, but in what world is his defense ever going to rise above 'bad'? He's not strong, athletic or long enough to guard like 99% of the NBA. I'm sure he'll be fine against like some smaller guards, but that's about it. I hope he has touch like Kyrie around the rim because he's gonna need it to get his shot off. His handle looks legit and the shot looks awesome with great range and a willingness to launch it, but man I am just so tired of tiny point guards who get hunted on defense when the games actually matter. For him to be an all-star he's going to have to have Lillard range.

Is it encouraging or depressing that he matched his block total from his Senior year just last night?

He is just really good. He can catch and shoot, he can create space to get off a shot and he is crafty finisher. He also can beat defenders with his passing. He is gritty and mixes it up. What’s not to like? Accept it....he is in the rotation and is going to be a solid contributor all year. Nice job Danny!

I have a question, why some call Pritchard as a tiny point guard?

Pritchard may not have elite lateral quickness.

But Pritchard is listed as 6'2 and 206 lbs with 6'4.5 wingspan.
https://www.nba.com/draft/2020/prospects/payton-pritchard#/

Pritchard is NOT a BIG Point Guard for sure, but he is also not a tiny point guard.
