Malcom is the perfect fit. I'm gushing over the 9ast coming off the bench. Loved how much he was looking for the right play versus making sure his scoring ability was known.

The game is going to be so much easier for JB and JT with this guy.
156-1 Celtics are frauds when pressure is put on them. They would have been toast if Luka was not stupid enough to foul himself out. Enjoy this ONE finals win. There will never be another with the Js and the Celtics cant afford stacked team.
He looked a little shaky out there when he first went in the game, but once he got settled in, wow I was loving it.

The way he was pushing the pace, he's got a really good handle. At one point he had a defender all over him and he made a nasty crossover dribble to get by his man.

Best of all, dude was slinging dimes all over the place. The feel for the game, the vision, the unselfishness, he would start driving and make great passes on time and on target. Man, we haven't had a true PG, a true floor general, pass-first type of PG, a true facilitator since Rondo. And Brogdon is bigger than Rondo and a better shooter.

I'm pumped. Praying that he stays healthy..

Rewatching early second quarter I was struck by the chemistry between Brogdon and Hauser. It looked like Hauser just knew he would get the ball exactly when and how he wanted it. He never hesitated…..when Brogdon got an offensive rebound he immediately moved into position and even though Malcolm was in the paint he got the ball to him right on time and exactly where Sam could catch it in motion.

Now maybe Sam was just feeling it. However, it looked to me like those 2 have something special cooking. Let’s see if they can do it again.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

Assist % isn’t everything but brogdon’s assist % in his first year in Indy is the highest of any Celtics guard since Rondo.

yeah. and while smart's assist rate isn't THAT high, his usage rate us low. With higher usage, his assist rate would look better.

With smart, brogdon and white, we are surrounding the Jays with some really good passers. Then with Grant, hauser and Pritchard, we are also surrounding the Jays with 3 of the better shooters in the league..

Plus one of the best rim runners in the league! And one of the best floor spacing bigs!

quoted for truth. Get ready to hear a LOT about how much of a 'perfect fit' this guy is with BOS.
the sort of buzz Al Horford should have gotten last year.
gosh Brad Stevens might be really pretty good at this!

Can we all please stop using stats as though they mean anything through 4 games. Yeah smart and brogdon together have been -29.7 in 93 possessions. This means nothing ! Teams have been shooting 27% from 3 against the hornets ! Does that mean they’ve secretly discovered how to defend 3’s ? Nope !

In those 93 possessions that brogdon and smart have played together; opponents have shot 48%from 3 and 71% from the corner. Are we saying that’s their fault ?

None of these shooting, on off or lineup stats mean anything till we have 20-25 games under our belt. We’re in the world of the eye test for now. It’s fine.

Even further emphasizing this point; teams generally use the first week or 2 to try stuff and quickly move on from what’s not working. Pay more attention from no to Christmas, in the vast majority of cases that’ll be the most representative sample of the year.

This dude is so good, you can easily argue he's the 3rd best player on the team, at least talent wise. He will be huge in the playoffs

Preach! Please let's uses stats for what they actually say and stop extrapolating wildly and speculatively, yet acting like those conclusions are actually inherent in the stat, and not simply tea leaf reading on a stat that doesn't mean what they want it to mean.
