Re: No Cheesesteaks For Us! Game 4 Loss vs PHI 5/7 (Series tied 2-2)
Tatum played like a superstar tonight - found a way to pull it together and impact the game in the second half when his shot wasn’t falling prior. That’s exactly what he needs to do and encouraging to see it.
I liked our grit tonight. This of course puts a lot more pressure on the Celtics and could be extremely costly for us if we lose this series.
But I think they clean things up and win the series.

Tatum at least rebounded in the first half, Brogdon too a little bit, was the rest of the team that couldn't grab a rebound.
Jaylen made a good effort to contest Harden's shot, but yeah, with a two point lead there is no way that Harden should be left open behind the arc there. Harden was having a monster night and worst case, if Embiid scores, it's a tie game.
But, while that is Jaylen's mistake, it's one of many examples where are team appears to always lack situational awareness late in close games. It's on Joe ideally to make sure our guys are prepared and know what to do in those situations, or otherwise to bench players who are not capable of getting it.
And the timeouts, it's like...
If you are going to throw someone in the water so they can gain confidence in their ability to swim, cool. But it's really important to teach them how to swim, first. Our guys are not good swimmers, if that's not on Brad it's on Joe.

I still don't get the logic of double teaming Embiid and leaving Harden wide open who has been killing Boston all game.

Its like effin groundhog day over and over and over again.
Tatum deferred two game winning shot attempts to Marcus. Let that sink in.
First was the right play. Second? He was too late not to shoot it. Against the clock, not a good play.

Stop leaving 3-point shooters open up 2 late. Stay home.

JB falls on the sword while the rest of the team has to defend Bazooka Joe for failing to do his job

I can’t believe we hired Joe. Our execution down the stretch was flawless under Brad and Ime. Worst head coach ever

I'm guessing Brogdon is not all the fond of the disrespect Joe gives him.

There’s no logic with this team in the clutch. They’ll find a way to amaze you each time with your bs. But this doesn’t shock me from JB

Stupid.
We made all the plays to win. Philly made some incredible plays.
Basketball happens.
The issue wasn’t smart’s shots. Or Tatum driving. Issue was down one, 16.9 seconds with two timeouts - that is two offensive possessions possible.
You call a timeout have Tatum go downhill, and then your shot is taken with 10 seconds to go. You make it? You play D. You kiss? Foul.
Then, you have another timeout to advance the ball to tie or win the game again.
Literally, Mazulla, gave away a possession and a chance to offensive rebound tip in.

So very true, as even if you miss and foul, and they make 2 free throws, you have a chance to tie again. We basically give up 2 possessions when we shoot as time expires. You can afford to do that when tied, but NEVER should that happen when you're down. That's a mistake you shouldn't even see in high school basketball.

I think they're literally afraid of Smart.
He's the only one trashing locker rooms after all.
John Paxson, Steve Kerr and Robert Horry say hello.
Kobe to Artest in 2010 says hello.
If Jordan can pass with game on the line, Tatum can pass. It’s the nba guys.

Superstars pass in those situations ALL THE TIME, that’s what happens when the defenses collapses on you.
I’d say you should know better, but I’m not too sure tbh.
Studs need to create their offense or pass to a GOOD, CLUTCH 3 point shooter. That's not Marcus Smart. He shouldn't even be in the game over White and Brogdon on the offensive end.
You coulda called timeout and put in Sam Hauser if you wanted a three pointer. But, they didn’t need a three pointer did they. Joe is an absolute dope

If I were a player I’d be furious having to publicly defend this dimwit
It's the same thing Ime ran all last year. You guys can be mad but it's been the gameplan for at minimum the past 2 years.

You know what else happens? Coaches call timeouts to design plays to get their superstars open shots.
I’ve said he should called a TO like four times lmao.

0-3 in possession ball games this postseason. That is not a coincidence. The games are only going to get more competitive from here. If we can’t win close games, we’re cooked

He should’ve called a timeout at the end of the 4th. This game even going to overtime is on Joe
