So Stotts Ollie and Borregio off the board. The staff is literally down to zero. I understand its early but none of this makes me feel really good about the direction of the franchise.

Would be an excellent addition. But would Brad hire him knowing that people will look at Cassell as defacto head coach? Very unlikely hire but would be an excellent one.

Terry Scotts would have been an amazing lead assistant.

Well frankly anyone with HC experience would because obvious Joe has no idea what he's doing.

but the fact the Bucks got him to be the lead assistant for a rookie HC in MIL shows he's willing to do ALLLLLL the work with none of the praise.

****.

Seriously this is how a GM and Coaching staff can single handedly throw away a contending window. Stevens and Joe are showing us it in real time.

I don't think Joe is the guy, and no amount of assistants will solve that. The players were still talking about last year and how they focused on defense when this season ended. I don't think they ever got over losing Ime, sadly.

I've been a big fan of GM Brad, but this was a bad move hiring this guy. How can we waste another year of this ready to win now group training a HC?? I understand not wanting a 4th HC in 4 years but this is worse imo.

I think someone like Sam Cassel is ready for a HCing gig. I would freaking love him here as the man. That's exactly what this team needs. Tough guy, experienced, played in the league, won a title; he's got the resume and cache. But this FO is married to Joe.

He’s been an assistant for more than 10 years. Nobody will look at him as the Head coach

Man, some of ya'll are so depressing with the negativity lol
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

KG -- like a lot of guys -- seems good ENJOYING LIFE now.
Coaching -- including assistant coaching -- is often not that!
I doubt he could do it, FWIW -- just watch suckers out there and not try to beast on them and smack them. His intense competitive spirit might not translate to just standing on the sideline with a clipboard, you know?

Right. I mean, you would think this team just lost a Playoff series to an 8th seed missing two rotation players or something...

Wait...

Cassell is a home run. Never been a head coach, but long time respected assistant out of the Doc Rivers coaching tree

If you are an assistant coach who is at that "head coach candidate list" level, then taking a job with the Celtics might be a good option as there is no guarantee that Mazulla is in the big chair long term.
