They had it easy last year up until the Orlando series this year.

JT and White kept going for home run shots.

Cs almost lost Game 1 in the ECF last year.
They were just saved by JB's game tying 3 and the Cs ended up winning in OT.

This time the Cs finally threw away a playoff game.

Hopefully this won't be 2023 all over again.

I'm sorry, but didn't Boston drop a game at home to both Miami and Cleveland last year? As a matter of fact I believe they got blown out by Cleveland in game 2 in Boston and lost by double digits to Miami in game 2 in Boston.

Yeah, both losses to Miami and Cleveland were losses where the Celtics really got beat.

This loss against NY is a game the Celtics threw away.

Like last season's Game 1 against Indy, in Boston, was almost stolen by Indy.

Just Stop it with the excuses. He played like this exactly game 1 against orlando, even before the fall. He played great game 3-5 attacking the rim and dunking on people. In the 1st half this game he was taking mid ranges. He was spooked when the knicks made a run.

He can take anyone on the Knicks to the rim, so why didn't he, because he's scared? I like the wrist excuse better than he's just plain scared.

These guys didn't take the Knicks seriously; Holly even said it pregame that it didn't feel like a playoff atmosphere. Well have some humble pie boys, do you want to be one and done and just another Championship team that will implode in the off season, or keep this band together and fight?!

We played Soft as a team. Knicks were just letting us shoot 3’s, and hope we miss them. What they did was make sure they get the rebound, and chip away the lead. Imagine just one 2pt fg attempt the whole 3rd quarter?? Jeez. If JT or brown posted up two each that 3rd quarter. Two from Jrue and Al, our lead wouldn’t have vanished that fast. Knicks starters played heavy mins, but they weren’t that tired because we mostly jack off 3’s.

He’s not scared. He had trouble with his dribble. He can’t get past his defender on the dribble, that’s why he settles for the 3ball.

If Boston lost an OT game by 3 points, and you're saying having Porzingis playing wouldn't have mattered, then it begs the question - what's the point of paying him all this money?

There shouldnt been OT let alone loss to Knicks with or without him.
Maybe he would do the same thing our guys did by sitting on damn 3point line and jacking up iso 3s all second half.

Or Joe doesn’t have anything in his bag for moments like this, when the 3ball ain’t dropping. More like JT doesn’t have anything if his 3ball ain’t going in. Just look at Mitchell. Shooting is poor, he said it himself during in-game interview, to attack the basket, which he did. Tatum lacks the dribbling skills to blow past a single defender. He can’t even get past brunson. If 3ball ain’t working, its the coaches job to adjust. Have someone post up and try to get a foul or an easy shot around the basket. Not let your players continue to jack up bricks. We all know all JT wants to do is shoot 3’s. JT, JB, Jrue, Horf and KP all can post up if they wanted to, but its easier to jack off 3’s than grind it out. Its fine if we’re hitting shots, but to continue to chuck away, all because they are open looks, and continue to brick them is stupidity and lazy.

You weren't complaining about JT against Orlando.

This is just like what you said, lazy and stupidity.

And stop it with JT's bag because Celtic fans know JT has all the tools of an elite offensive player.

The problem with JT is he wants home runs all the time.

Let's see what happens in Game 2 because all this talk of JT's bag is getting old.

I complained about JT in game 1. When he played awful. Missing everything from free throws to 3’s. I praised him game 3-5 when he played great. The problem with him is inconsistency. Every playoffs this happens with him. I’m pretty sure he will make a conscious effort to attack the rim or limit his 3ball game 2, as he was called out by reporters during his post game interview. Let’s see what he does. We can’t win with JT shooting 30percent from the field, and jacking off 3’s at 25 percent clip. He needs to out play Brunson at the least.

I agree.

But you have to take the good with the bad.

As long as JT gets 4 wins every series then that's all that matters.

JT will eventually get there, when it comes to consistency, but right now there will be times he will look bad.

Paul Pierce became more efficient when he was 30 yrs old.

I think JT is on the same trajectory.

For as many missed threes we had, we had a shot at the end. In these close games, Joe's decisions are magnified. Why wasn't Pritchard on the court? Why is White inbounding the ball? These become critical coaching mistakes. I distinctly remember a regular season game last year, where Hauser was like 5/6 from deep, and we had a last second possession and we were down by 3. Joe never put Hauser in the game. In my mind, these are critical decisions that separate top coaches from mediocre ones. Joe showed his mediocrity last night. You HAVE to make all the right crunch time decisions to not allow coaching become a factor in losing. Give the player/team the best chance at all times.

Yeah, so I guess we agree that Boston might be better served using that money elsewhere. I don't understand what's going on with Porzingis to be honest. A 38 year old Horford has been more impactful so far in these playoffs. Last year even though KP missed a lot of playoff games, the ones he was in, he made a huge difference. This year, he's given next to nothing.

The main issue with JT is he transformed from being someone like KD to something like Lebron.

By getting bigger and stronger, it has affected JT's shooting.

Right now we can only hope for the best because these guys truly believe in what they're doing.

Mazzulla-Ball is ride or die for these current Celtics.

So the 3pt shooting will always be their primary weapon.

Stupid annoying loss though I think people are blowing it out of proportion. Had a terrible game and just barely lost. I still expect a 5-game win.

95% 3 point attempts in the third is an all time ludicrous and idiotic stat. Congrats on that I guess. That is something you do with your create a player in NBA Live as a kid.

Same thing we said about the heat series two years ago, then we are down 0-3. If we win game 2 convincingly, then 5 games is a possiblity. We can’t afford to make game 2 a close one. Scared of Brunson in the clutch. JT jacked off a 3 in regulation, while Brunson attack us and almost sank that bank shot 5ft of the rim. Big diff on shot selection.

What is mind blowing is that it is never 1 or 2 guys that cannot hit threes, It is the ENTIRE team all at the same time. I guess bad shooting is contagious?

Hart and Bridges played with more passion and intensity than our whole team combined. While I agree that we should still handle this Knicks team, if that doesn’t change, we are in trouble.

Obviously Boston can still win this series but now game 2 is a must win. Teams that go down 0-2 lose the series 92% of the time. It is also concerning that KP has ANOTHER illness especially since his last mystery illness kept him out of the lineup for weeks. Not that Hauser has been good, but he is injured which just shortens the rotation.

19 out of 20 shots in the 3rd were threes and 45 missed threes which is just absurd. Boston may not miss that many threes again, but I also doubt missed 17 FTs next game either.

All we can hope for is Boston his their threes because go knows the game-plan won't ever change.

Absolutely. Having White inbound the ball on the last possession has never worked out for the Celtics. Like ever.

I was wondering this myself.
