Very young bench, but it could be a lot worse. Helps that Brown and Tatum can shuffle along a couple positions too depending on what vet we can grab.

Just for clarity, and mercy on those with brainlock, this means the following players would be gone: Amir Johnson, Jonas Jerebko, James Young, Jordan Mickey, Tyler Zeller and Kelly Olynyk. Plus the names that hurt: Jae Crowder, Avery Bradley, and Terry Rozier.
Correct? Did I leave anyone out?
But maybe it's possible to keep Rozier and his measly 2 million? Possibly if Hayward signed for slightly less?
Also theoretically a guy like Gerald Green could be back as a minimum salary player, right?
Hayward taking a pay cut would be glorious.
So the only returning players would be Isaiah Thomas, Marcus Smart, Jaylen Brown, and Al Horford. Maybe Rozier under certain circumstances, and theoretically Green is possible too.

All our UFAs (Green, Young, Amir, Jerebko) can theoretically return if they accept the minimum or whatever exceptions are available to us. Zeller, Crowder, and Bradley are 99.98% gone.

What a huge turnover. It'll be about 9 or 10 new players, plus a few extra on 2-ways.

If he joins a team that might end up being the next super team there's zero chance he leaves for LA. None.
Except for the fact that he's already flat out said he'd like to play for the Lakers. He's been tied to them for about a year now. And they have time to make moves to bring in other stars along with him.
Why are people acting like he didn't say he'd prefer the Lakers? I'm just taking the guy at his word. I've never had any reason to believe Paul George is a liar.

Also, "thin bench" is the most overrated thing in basketball. It's trivially easy to fill out a solid bench.

People are reading waaayy too much into this narrative the media has pushed. His agent said they plan to go to LA. George said he prefers LA. People close to him have said Boston is a good long term fit for him. He wants to play with Hayward.
He simply said he prefers LA. I prefer to have my own therapy practice in NH, but it may not be the case and I'll still be happy and successful opening one here. It's just an expressed preference, one of which the perception of has been skewed by the media, rationalization, paranoia, and bias.
You take this chance. Him leaving for LA is not set in stone. Him staying doesn't make him a liar either. WAY too many semantics going on with this LA thing. It's such a story. A preference, sure, but that's all it is.

It's the cost of wanting to raise your ceiling as a team. You have an opportunity to add two all-stars without clearing the cupboard of future assets, you do it.
I know continuity is important to the coaching staff, but talent is talent. Acquire the stars then trust your established system/culture to make it work.
