I didn't watch the games, just the highlights.....

Was Scheierman really that bad? People want him cut? He's been fairly productive in actual NBA games for a contender. For summer league to move the needle that much he'd have to be impossibly bad.

Overreaction, as usual.

starting to really wonder about scheierman's shooting. i mean it's been bad. really bad. i would have thought he would come in this year and improved his consistency on his shooting form. but he still takes wild shots, and even when he hits his shot doesn't look repeatable. i have no idea how he shot so well in college but he needs to turn it around in training camp. he's got a lot of other skills but if he just keeps chucking up bricks he won't even be in the rotation this year.

Amari was the 46th pick in the draft. Chances are... odds are... yes, he ultimately won't pan out in the NBA, like most 46th picks.

But these guys are here primarily to learn how to play their role and the team's system and plays.

Williams might end up as a reserve player in a few years. Nobody expects a savior here. But can he be good? Of course, but it's not gonna be like randomly buying a powerball ticket. It takes time.

I would've given Brad a pass on that, but he traded down from the 32nd pick. Can't keep giving Brad the benefit of the doubt for late 2nd rounders not working out when he regularly trades down or out from higher draft positions.

Yeah the reason you don't trade down from 32 to 46 is because 46 is less likely to be a good player.

Also, you can't just call 46 a lotto ticket. That totally discounts scouting. Some teams are really good at scouting these guys. I mean look at Brooks Branhizer.

Did anyone even remotely have this guy on their radar? That's not just luck. It's good scouting too.

He's forcing it. I wish he would let the game come to him a little bit more.

Yeah, he's taking bad shots.

But the bigger issue is his defense.

Can Baylor be a decent defender in the NBA?

That's what concerns me more.

The shooting will be better with better shot selection.

Pay attention to the contracts given out for guys taken in the 30's. I'm sure they only were willing to take regular contracts and not 2ways, which is what the Brit will get.

If that's is the case and the only big willing to take a 2way was the Brit, then in hindsight, Stevens should have taken a future 2nd for #32. That's hindsight so far seeing how the Brit has played.

This whole Summer League he has been the most shameless 3pt hucker. I don't mind players spamming them when it's in the flow of the offense, but he does none of that. Just random pullup pieces of crap left and right. It has to be awful sharing the floor with him.

I get it that the guy is fighting for his career but I'm not interested in seeing him in green any longer.

So what?

It's not like Brad will not be picking again in 2026, 2027, 2028, 2029, 2030, 2031, and until he's tired of working for the Cs.

Nobody's perfect.

It's entitlement!

If Brad was picking in 2017 and he picked Lonzo Ball instead of Tatum then that's incompetence.

But Brad has only picked twice and both of them late 1st rnd picks, #30 and #28.

IMHO Stevens knows a good player-- or one who has the potential to become a good player. It's true that Scheierman has shot poorly, but his defense has been fine.

The story of last night's game was Lofton, who was the best player on the floor. He reminds me a little of Rodney Rogers.

The way I see it, Rico for his age and at best would be a bench player. He has bright spots but he has more smh moments. You can develop him then trade him later or trade him now. Hugo otoh, can be special, He has a feel for the game and he is relentless. You can't teach that. He just needs to mature.

Rico will be fine. He was terrible to start in SL and Maine last season.

It’s early to guage, but Walsh, Scheierman and Davison have all outplayed their draft positions.
Especially with Sheierman there were guys I would have rather he drafted, but too early to tell.
I think Walsh was a solid pick.
Gonzales seems like he was the best available.
I didn’t like trading away 32, but time will tell how that turns out.
Short answer is it’s too early to say.
He has only used two first rounder 2024and 2025.

It's too early to give up on Amari and Shulga. It's only 4 games in SL at that.

With that being said, I don't know what type of commitment Brad has made to these 2 guys. As of now, I would give Bassey and Loften the 2 way deals over Amari and Shulga. Unless he does a 2 for 1 trade and can add Bassey or Loften to the team that way.
