The Clips will be giving up on the season if they trade Zubac.

They would be left with Brook Lopez and that rookie with a long surname at the Center spot.

Clippers season is already over

Maybe? If they got their act together, couldnt they get to 10th spot and the playin?

Their entire team building philosophy is to go into next year with two players (Kawhi, Harden) on massive expirings and then max capspace after next season. Having the richest owner, a baller stadium, playing in LA and having and a respected center in Zubac already there, that is their entire pitch?

EDIT: Looked it up, LAC is 3 games back from POR/MEM for 10th in the West with 60 games remaining. They could stabilize their situation and make that up

Yup!

They have John Collins' expiring contract.

Maybe if the Kings want out of DeRozan's contract then they just swap Collins for DeRozan.

Or if they want Simons, they can do a multi-team trade to get Simons and the Celtics will get a player from another team.

Giving up on the season is just not an option if the owner is Steve Ballmer.

Taking on a bad contract like Mann’s could be an option so that we can keep more of our draft picks and have another team send them over instead.

Its tough because that Mann contract is truly horrendous event though I believe he still can be a playoff rotation guy

Zubac & Highsmith to BOS
Simons, BOS 2026 FRP & BOS future FRP to LAC
Bogdanovich and picks to BKN

Queta at this time keeps staying underrated on here despite out playing most of the centers so far. Including the player, we want to give up so many valuable assets for. Smh.

Ok we could have drafted Kalk… we didn’t though. I don’t understand the relevancy. And are you trying to imply $19M is a lot? That’s pretty damn solid contract number for Zubac. He was in a situation like Dwhite where his max extension was below market but it was close enough that it was worth it to lock in the security. So if they do trade him, he carries the benefit of a below fair market value deal.

Queta is having a great year and has emerged as a key piece. He’s not outplaying Zubac though. That’s nonsense. No one is disrespecting him. He’s playing 24 minutes and if we added a high end center like Zubac that probably Lu gets cut to 18-20, but that’s hardly dismissing or diminishing him. If we had him and Zubac that’s 48 minutes of great center play.

This board gets infatuated with fringe players. Ben McLemore, Harry Giles, and now it is Kalkbrenner.

The kid is too slow and isn’t good enough to help us. Is he better than Garza? Probably not.

The infatuation seems to be one poster who likes to complain.
