So Danny is trying to move further down? Like what's going on? I can't deal with these moves right now. I'm so lost.

I'd do it, pick up something to swap picks and nab Tatum at 4. Not sure what we could get out of the Suns though

That's what I'm saying. Like what could they offer? We don't want players coming back..so like a top 5 protected pick next year? Rolling over to a top 4 protected the year after? Would they offer that much to move up a spot? Would that be enough for us to move down a spot? Does this somehow involve more assets in order to try and get Devin Booker? This has become such a **** show. It's rare to see so many teams trading or looking to trade out of top 5 picks. This year I feel like Danny booting the 1 pick has kinda made everybody else feel a little better about taking risks at the top.

Who knows, protected first like the grizz pick which eventually may be good in 5 years? I believe they also have picks owed to them by Miami

Makes a lot of sense for the Suns, as they need a Jackson type, defense and playmaking more than the wing scoring of Tatum... I wondered if all the Celtics hubbub about Jackson was to draw in the Suns interest for the 3rd pick?

If Danny is set on Tatum, I'd certainly take a Suns 19 for a move up.

More realistic theory: George has wanted out of Indy since last year. After the Finals, Bron hit him up and told him he's the missing piece. Convo went like this...

Bron: "we need you in The Land. Let's get that title back"

George: "I'm not a free agent though"

Bron: "bro, I know how this GM stuff works. Just tell Indy you aren't resigning there. So they'll have no choice but to trade you."

George: "but what if Boston makes the best offer?"

Bron: "tell them you want to be a Laker. They'll eat thag **** up and not want to trade for a rental pkayer"

George: "hmm.. wow you're good"

Bron: "now here's Woj's number. He'll drop the bomb tonight and we can start training together next month"

I still think we'll end up trading the third pick for a player but if Phx wants Jackson and we could still grab Tatum at 4 in a pick swap deal, we could pick up another asset for the future. Not bad at all.

Don't think the Sacramento deal is that appetizing.

By all means, start a thread on a massive miss this pick was by Ainge. I'm down to throw a fit in that one too.

Young was like the 17th pick. What are the historical expectations for guys in that slot? He missed on the pick for sure but it's hardly a crisis. I'm sure you don't want to hear it but Ainge pretty consistently drafts guys who outperform the expected production for their draft slot.

If I'm Ainge just do it. We have already set the precedent moving from #1 to #3; how much have we got to lose moving to #4? Get a 2018 first round pick from the Suns, that could make 3 of the first 8 picks next year (the year of the big man prospect) going to the Celtics (albeit best case scenario)

Word is Suns would love to get either Jackson or Ball, and any way you slice it, one of those two would be available at #3. Not the case if PHO stays at #4, they could both be gone.

Make it happen BOS

The consensus pick on draft night was Rodney Hood, who turned out to be a fine player. Danny opted for the younger, shiner toy.

Miami 2018 goes unprotected in 2019.

Collect all the unprotected picks Danny it is your destiny!

He opted for someone who was young project with higher ceiling. Turned into *** but you have to gamble at those spots if you're a rebuilding team. He passed on Giannis by taking the safer pick.

Can't imagine Blake agreeing to a double-sign-and-trade where he ends up in Indiana. Can't see Doc and West trading DJ, and would Indiana even want him with Myles Turner. Would the Pacers want Reddick? Nope. Rivers? Lol. Draft picks? They won't have much to offer. I don't think they have enough firepower to pull off a deal.

I'd do 3 for 4 and the 2018 Miami pick. Probably 3 for 4 and 2021 as well. And use them in trades for PG or Butler, or whoever we havn't thought of (AD).

BTW, in terms of the Philly / Boston trade, NBAdraftnet has Boston picking Michael Porter #1 with the BKN pick and Ayton #3 with the Lakers pick. Luka Doncic still on board if we prefer him over Ayton. If that scenario actually plays out next summer Danny Ainge comes out looking like an absolute God.
