Next year our lineup would project to be

Irving, Hayward, Davis, Horford and baynes.

You think that competes with a warriors team that sticks together?

Warriors aren't sticking together.

And yes - that team makes the finals and probably wins it.

look on the bright side, you could be cheering for a bottom feeding team that never makes moves and lives a boring NBA existence.

All this 'doesn't want to play for Boston' is in service to a short term angle - get him to the Lakers now.

If that fails, you'll see things change.

Yep— theres a reason that he always hedged by saying it was cuz he thought Kyrie was leaving. He always knew there was a good chance the Laker plan failed.

And all the people saying not to trade Tatum+ for AD now would be saying not to trade Al+ for KG.

Now they'll quote me and say Tatum>>Al, and theyre right. But AD is 6 years younger than KG was, of course he will get a bigger haul.

Who said ainge said that? His agent? His father?

Why on earth would the people closest to Davis say these things about LA but it isnt what he wants AND that ainge demanded a KG extension before trading his trash for him.

I have deduced that ainge is posturing cause he isnt even at the table right now and Davis is using his agent to get to his destination.

Another great quote from the LA Times article:

The person said the Lakers were not willing to give up the six to eight draft picks the Pelicans sought for Davis.
Late Monday night, the Lakers had changed their offer at the request of the Pelicans, two people with knowledge of the situation said.
The Lakers had agreed to send their entire young core of Lonzo Ball, Kyle Kuzma, Brandon Ingram, Josh Hart and Ivica Zubac to the Pelicans, as well as veteran guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, those with knowledge of the situation said.

The Lakers also were willing to send two first-round draft picks, they said. Los Angeles also offered to give the Pelicans the salary-cap relief they wanted by acquiring Solomon Hill, who has another year left on his deal after this season for $12.7 million.

Pels definitely **** with them.

Can we just stop and appreciate for a minute just how perfectly Ainge played this situation?

Four days ago Kyrie said "ask me July 1st" and everyone claimed Kyrie would join LeBron and Davis in LA or Durant in NY. The sky was falling and the national mediots (Hi Nick Wright!!) were dancing on our graves. Then Klutch started talking about lists and poor IT's hurt feelings. Ainge even was blamed for calling LeBron Donald Trump! The Celtics were as good as done and the Lakers were about to assemble the next Wonder Twins Super Team.

Then Danny whispered to the Pels.....if you wait....we will come. We love you more than Magic ever could.

Now? Lakers are picking up all their toys and crying because no one wants to play with them. The Pelicans are anxiously waiting to dance with Danny not even realizing that he's going to steal money out of their purse and not call them in the morning. In fact, not only is he going to try and get Davis for two dimes and a nickel but he's not going to stop there.....he's got his eye on bigger plans.

You watch. The national story is about to change and miraculously Davis camp will start to warm to the idea of Boston.

This my friends is why we should never doubt Daniel Ray Ainge. He's one hell of a General Manager and we are damn lucky to have him guiding our team.

Yes. It's pretty clear that Danny said that... according to woj.

Which would only be posturing because Danny isnt using 7 years of asset collecting to gamble on a year. Extension or nothing.

1%

Agreed. My God what a dumpster fire the Lakers are if they're unable to swing this deal.

You have open revolting and disrespect from players versus Walton . You have Lavar running his mouth trashing Walton and "speaking into existence" his son going to Phoenix. You got the team muddling along with a 27-26 record....behind Sacramento fighting for the 8th seed. You have growing league-wide disgust for the way they're trying to manipulate New Orleans. Finally, LeBron finally showing a little wear and tear on that body.

Such a good time!

That's pretty bad. Honestly. Better than I thought but really not impressed.

Now you're gonna add the year in and out playoff grind and somehow his injury history is supposed to disappear?

Hes the best big man in the game. Hes not a game changer as of thus moment. We know that because hasnt been.

You act like that would be out of character for Ainge. He even directly said he went hard after Paul George and wasn't seeking any assurances on an extension

I dont get why anyone cant see that.

0% chance AD ever ends up on the same team as Tatum next year.... Zero

Zero % Davis is on the celtics.

Lol so we agree. Cool.

Well.. I’m more 10% but that’s neither here nor there

Why? So the pels accept an offer they just refused? And by holding Tatum out it reduces the lakers offer as well because they dont usve to try as hard to top it.

Davis is being traded. Period.

Davis doesnt want to he here. Accept what he said. Dont tell me he didn't day it.

Now, why does Danny tell the pels you can have everything you want and then hope against hope that he stays. Why is Danny NOT using that as leverage against the pels?

Explain to me why Danny isnt doing his due diligence to negotiate down? In fact, where are the conspiracy theories saying that Davis him self is doing it to get him self to the celtics with tatum?

This trade isnt happening if it involves Tatum. That's all that matters.

Then he’s a Laker.

Only way to top LA’s package is ....

1. Include Tatum
Or
2. Sac picks lands number 2

Let him be a laker then? The finals will still be celtics warriors in that scenario.

Warriors will he an issue for the lakers and by time they aren't lebron will be 38/39 and Davis is pushing 30.

That isnt a disaster for the celtics. It's a lol to the lakers.

It's the internet and everyone is allowed to have an opinion, but those opinions are not created equally. Some of these guys make me want to stick ice picks into my scrotum every time they post. Just bad thinkers, with no ability to assess talent or think critically. Wouldn't be that bad if they weren't so loud about it. We need a junior varsity board where guys can get relegated to. Maybe at the end of the year, a couple of guys move up or down based on the previous year's performance like the EPL, lol.

Jaylen/MEM pick probably = Tatum in value..

First I’ve heard of there being bigger problems with Jaylen.. think he’s scapegoat for team struggles/rivalries..

Rozier/Jaylen/BOS 1st for Isaac/Bamba probably works for both teams.. we’d just need to follow up with a trade for a backup guard..

Return to Boston Celtics
