"Debunked" might be too strong. He told some randos at the hotel he was staying at that that's where he was going. So I believe it. I truly believe the Cs are moving Gordon to get into the top 10. Doing their diligence no doubt..

they'd be risking a pretty hefty fine and or loss of picks.

Feels like we are looking at:

Patrick Williams
Kira Lewis
Saddiq Bey
Aaron Nesmith
Precious Achiuwa
Cole Anthony
Tyrese Maxey
Tyrell Terry

Anybody else would be a surprising rise or drop at 14. Still, there is a lot of talent there.

I have a sense we're going to move up to draft Haliburton. But if we stay those are guys in our range..

What is the fascination with Haliburton? Genuinely curious not trying to argue but I've seen a lot of posters on here liking him.

Has great stats and shooting splits are good but his jump shot form just scares me a ton.

He's just a great classic point. His efficiency is elite. This team desperately needs someone to set the table, organize the offense, and get guys looks. He just controls the game.

GSW is considering him at No 2, that's how good he is..

So many intriguing bigs in this draft that will be likely be available at picks 26 and 30: Daniel Oturu, Zeke Nnaji, Xavier Tillman, Robert Woodward II, Isaiah Stewart, Vernon Carey Jr., Reggie Perry, Paul Reed. Additional bigs with potential that could be perhaps be snagged at pick 14: Precious Achiuwa, Aleksej Pokusevski, Patrick Williams, Jalen Smith. Normally, it might be difficult to parlay picks at the end of round one for a higher pick, but with the quality that is there, a team might be enticed. Or maybe the Celtics would be happy to pick one or more of these players. Whatever the case, I think picks 26 and 30 in this draft will prove to be more valuable than is typical. Hope I'm right.

I might take a shot at Tillman at 30 as a solid bench big..

Shooting form doesnt matter if you get continued results and there is consistancy within the form itself.

His shot always releases the same, and he hits excellent percentages. Like Shawn Marion

I just checked out the scouting reports on Desmond Bane, and he definitely raised my eyebrows. He has great range on his 3-point shot, and looks to have a solid defensive game. Right now he is projected to go in the second round, and may be gone before the Celtics pick at 47. Do the Celtics value him enough to use pick 30? The fact that he spoke to the Celtics indicates they have some interest. No question we could use a shooter.

1 - Anthony Edwards
2 - James Wiseman
3 - LaMelo Ball
4 - Killian Hayes
5 - Deni Avdija
6 - Onyeka Okongwu
7 - Isaac Okoro
8 - Obi Toppin
9 - Devin Vassell
10 - Tyrese Haliburton
11 - Tyrell Terry
12 - Patrick Williams
13 - Kira Lewis Jr.

********************

Aaron Nesmith
Precious Achiuwa
Saddiq Bey
Tyrese Maxey
Cole Anthony

After looking at it today, I think that top 13 will be off the board before we pick at 14. Unfortunately, my top 3 will be gone if this is how it plays out. I can see lots of shuffling in that top group but they seem like a step above to me.

Out of that next group, I think I like Achiuwa the best. Not sure though. Need to think on it some more.

I'm tired of getting caught up in first round, second round. That Duncan Robinson kid on Miami was undrafted. identify an NBA skills set and put that guy in the program to develop. The only thing you can't improve is physical limitations. Avoid those guys. Something we did not do last draft. Every single player has physical limitations that they can't overcome.

The best indicators of NBA success are:

1) Elite skill level (ie shooting, passing, pace, etc) - Luka, Steph, Jokic.

or

2) Elite physical tools. (Length, verticality, quickness) - Giannis, AD.

The absolute best are a combination of both - LeBron, KD, Kawhi, Hakeem, Jordan.

Unless you want a mediocre player, you need to draft for one of those, preferably both. But every year we get teased by some "High IQ" guy who is undersized/underathletic for their position without the elite skill to overcome it. Brad seems to covet these guys especially.

He is an elite passed and defender who is really big and long for a PG. At worst he is dishing 8 assists and scoring 12 points a game while playing elite defenses, he can switch onto a 3 no problem unlike say Kemba. He won't be available at 14 but I would package 14 and 26 to get him at 10 or 12 if he were available, on a team with a bunch of scorers he would be a good fit.

Return to Boston Celtics
