TPE doesn’t sound like it’s getting used, and we paid for it so despite the tax feels like a missed opportunity

I don't think the Celts really paid for that TPE.

Fournier signed with the Knicks and the Celts only lost a couple of 2nd round picks for Fournier.

White for a rookie type contact makes sense, too. A decent value guy.

Could see White for Jaxson Hayes and some other guys where Boston reduces some salary and gets a backup for Rob and Al.

Could make sense. No shot it’s for Jaxson Hayes as hes just a low IQ player but someone on a rookie contract makes sense. Still doubt they trade White

I think the Cs are done dealing, for now.

The next time the Cs might make a move is at the trade deadline.

I think it's only fair if Kornet is given an opportunity to play early in the season.

If that doesn't work then trade for another big at the trade deadline.

Celtics will get another big one way or the other.

Not going into the season with Horford, RW3 and Kornet

Horford is old and RW3 is injury prone

Ehhh I’d be shocked if they just dumped White to get rid of his contract. The organization loves him

I dunno. Swap White for a young big man and they would seem the balance the roster. Al's probably got another good year or two left.

We're talking about (buyable) 2nd round picks?? When is the last time Celtics picked a guy that was payable with a second round pick? I may me missing somebody but was it it Etwaun Moore (was he a 2nd)??

I hope we find a gem with the TPE myself, just won't be upset if we let it go.

I think we gave up a couple of seconds to get the TPE from CHA when Hayward left. Then we gave up a couple of seconds to take Fournier into the Hayward TPE. Then we used the rest of the Hayward TPE to get JRich for free (who we later flipped with Romeo, a 1st and a pick swap for White). We also gave up a couple of seconds to NY to let us create the new Fournier TPE.

So if this TPE goes unused, tracing all the way back the inception of the Hayward TPE, I believe we will have traded:

'22 1st
6 2nd rounders
'28 pick swap rights
Langford

for Derrick White and half season rentals of Fournier/JRich

PJ Washington is another guy who comes to mind.

Why wouldn't Boston keep White?

Malcolm Brogdon games played last 5 years:
36, 56, 54, 64, 48.

Keep Smart, White and Brogdon. Limit Brogdon's minutes to 25-28 a game. Rest him on back to backs and sit him out at other times just for extra rest.

Smart, White and Brogdon can all play PG/SG. Keep all 3.

Brown can play 20 minutes a game at SG and another 12 at SF.

We need to cut Tatum, Brown, Smart, Horford and Rob's minutes down. They all need to play about 3-6 minutes less than they played last year so they can have fresh legs. The addition of Brogdon and Gallo gives the Celtics that option.

I think Boston will keep 2 spots open for a few days to a few months and wait for buyouts and get 1 to 2 vets to add to the bench for insurance like we did with the 2008 team. More players will want to play for us this up coming season because they want to win, just like in the 2008 season.

I love how all these stars have become available but the Lakers have no capital to get any of them

Brogdon's the 3rd scoring option they needed. Still feel that one big move is left and Stevens will reduce payroll by a few million.

Yep, unfortunately can't count on Rob to stay healthy.

Yeah, I agree if the Cs use the vet's minimum on a big.

But I think the Cs are done making trades, for now.

Korny don't hate me, I just need to ask...

Could we be sign and trading him... wait as I'm typing I remember, I don't think you could add his salary with any other player, so never mind.

Love you Korny!! :o

White helped the Cs win playoff games this year.

Worst case scenario is the Cs lost some picks for White.

Not really a big deal moving forward.

Can't win 'em all!

They have an overflow of pg's now and White can help them add size. Rob Williams is as injury prone as Brogdon and Al Horford's 36 years old.

I get it, but I would ask for a top draft pick type of talent. I ain't giving them 2 picks for Hayes, who was a top 10 pick, but hasn't lived up to it.
Good assessment:

PLO wrote:Tatum played OK - took advantage of a few mismatches - decent on the defensive end. He is what we thought he was going into the season - a technically very proficient player operating close to his career ceiling as a rookie.

Flatearth you really want to breakup the new Smart DWhite Brogdon backcourt. Why is that?
