It is amazing to see this team cruise to the finals when you think about it. Last two seasons this team struggled to even get to ECF with 7 games series that were heavily in doubt and then 2 series against Heat that were heavily contested and that the Celtics needed miracles to even extend to 7 games. The year they made it to the finals they almost squandered a lead in the last minute of game 7.

Porzingas - who was the splashy big addition this off season has yet to contribute in the playoffs in a meaningful way.

We basically swapped Smart for Jrue and subtracted Brogdon, Rob And Grant Williams from the roster. We watched Al get a year older and this was off set by the continuing development of Jays, DWhite, Pritchard/Hauser/Kornet.

I was mocked last year for saying Jrue was the most dangerous player in the playoffs after Bucks lost to Heat. However, his impact on this team is undeniable. That guy by himself could neutralize our 3 headed monster of Smart/White/Brogdon last year which was a major strength of that team. All season long he was content to blend in the background and his impact was underrated. We are seeing now what a stud he really is.

We obviously have had some breaks go our way with injuries to other teams but when you factor in the massive downgrade in talent and depth outside of Jrue with losses of the Williamses and Malcolm and the aging of Horford it is amazing. With a healthy KP I like our chances. The possibility of an historic all-time great performance by Luka scares me - we’ve seen it before but I am not sure Dallas has enough to pull off the upset.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

This probably already got posted somewhere but if so I missed it...

Jeff Van Gundy Could Join Joe Mazzulla's Coaching Staff Next Season

The Boston Celtics are exploring the idea of Jeff Van Gundy joining Joe Mazzulla's coaching staff as an assistant next season, league sources told Marc Stein of The Stein Line.

Van Gundy is currently working with the team as a senior consultant on the basketball operations side.

The Celtics are losing top assistant Charles Lee to the Hornets this offseason.

Van Gundy turned down a role on Jason Kidd's staff last summer.

Never forget. Jonas Jerebko walked so Kristaps Porzingis could run.

That’s a pretty good criteria for guys to join this team.

80-20 season still in play. Of all the teams in NBA history who have won 80% of their games (incl. playoffs), only the 2016 Warriors didn't win a championship.
