Either one of these teams would have beat us this year.

I still think healthy Celtics would of struggled with OKC or Indi if their 3pt shooting was not going in. The game has changed. Finally. Thanks god!

The OKC halfcourt offense is so bad outside SGA bailouts.

OKC really could use a White, PP or Hauser...

True!
This year - when we are banged and injured
No way either team beat us when we are healthy
IND is basically the same team from last year. It was hard but we beat them 4-0

Re: NBA Playoff Games 2025, Non-Celtics
I've watched maybe 5 total minutes of playoff games after the C's were eliminated. I give anybody a ton of credit for being able to watch games after their team was eliminated.
With that said. All the hypothetical talk that either team would have beaten the C's is ridiculous. A team can get hot at any point.

Both OKC and Indy play with discipline on offense.
That's the difference.
The Celtics jack up contested 3s, JT the main culprit.
JB and White going for heat checks that ended missing, most of the time.
And JB dribbling against multiple defenders, only to lose the ball in the end.
The level of play this season has gone up.
Celtics too dependent on the 3pt shot finally caught up with them.

Re: NBA Playoff Games 2025, Non-Celtics
What I see from both teams in the finals is the players know their roles.
Those who are not shooters don't shoot outside their range.
If they're not designated ball handlers, they don't dribble the ball and always give it to the ball handlers.

True and at times it kinda resembles our offense, where SGA just dribbles the ball into a 3 or a mid-range j... Their defense actually leads to offense. When they force live-ball turnovers is when they stomp teams.
Good assessment:

Disagree healthy Celts would have repeated. OKC is not as good as the regular season numbers said. If they were as dominant as many thought they wouldn’t have lost 7 post season games.celtics swept the Pacers last year when the rosters were very similar.

Remember the '08 Celtics?
Two of their losses came in games where they clearly outplayed their opponent but were coached poorly down the stretch and collapsed a bit, C's style. Another one or two losses were winnable games, three losses came at the hands of a Nuggets team that resembled the championship team from two years ago, at least more than it resembled last year's team.
Reg season, they were 14-0 when Hartenstein played at least 31 minutes (16-0 counting postseason), 45-4 when he pulled down more than 7 rebounds. I am surprised he is only getting like 20 mins a game vs the Pacers. He fills voids for them, and would seem particularly useful against a team like the Pacers who gain some advantage over their opponents by starting two quality big men. And his minutes have been getting replaced by Cason Wallace (who hasn't done much), and by Caruso who is a solid glue guy, but not all that good.

Tbh, refs screwed them a bit..
It's 1 game though, whoever plays with poise and limits unforced errors will prevail..

The team we saw in the playoffs for sure. Would have needed our players not to be playing through health concerns or straight up injured.

Yeah, exactly. Between KP and JB being hobbled and the fact this year's team was a step or two below last year, I think we would have run out of steam, even with JT. Indiana is a level up from last year for sure.
