He's not nearly the athlete Kobe was in his younger days. Older Kobe maybe. Merge Fultz and Jaylen together... young Kobe lol.

The cool thing about Fultz is that he doesn't really compare to anyone. His skill set is pretty unique. Harden is probably the closest comp, although Harden was a little bigger, but not as nifty (as a college player). He's different than all the big guard prospects to come out lately. What stands out with him is skill and feel - he's a prodigy in those areas. Great natural passer, perfect shooting form, throws great bounce passes, knows how to find open space and driving lanes, seems to know when to do what by instinct. Then physically he's no slouch, with huge hands, long arms, good strength and plenty of ups. He's unique. I can't remember a 19 year-old who had that skill set.

The crazy thing is he's still 18 for another week+.

I linked an article a page or two back from Kaiser Lindeman, who highlighted how rare Fultz is on offense. In brief, his season, for an 18 year old, ranked between Durant/Melo and Iverson. And that's playing on a terrible team with no spacing and as the sole focus of opponents. The guy is just rarely talented on offense.

Definitely not young Kobe, who could jump through the roof. More mid-career Kobe, when he could pass real well and shoot the three decently.

It's really just the way he moves. Very underrated footwork. He gets to his spot every time, and due to his size/length, even the contested shots are clean looks.

I hear ya. And I was always against the Wade comparisons. But I'm slowly starting to come around. Again, not as athletic, but has a strong look and feel.

Fultz --> Steph
Jaylen --> Barnes/Iggy
Horford --> Dray
Zizic --> Bogut

We just need a Klay.

IT can score as much as Klay can..but why are we leaving Durant out in this comparison?

They are forgetting about this guy too.

Based on those highlight reels, it's really too bad we couldn't somehow have these two guys for tonights game, two bigs that aren't pussies. I know highlight reels can be misleading and make anyone look like a superstar, but there at least seems to be evidence that these two could be really helpful for us. I would love it if someone would do a draft express style video breakdown of both of their seasons playing overseas, it would be helpful to see consistently what their flaws are as well as their strengths.

I agree. But they are worth the wait.

We are going to be a very different team next year with those two and the additions of hopefully Fultz. Jaylen should be improved. And if we land Hayward on top of that, we will be a much loaded team.

If Jaylen played in college last season he'd only be 3 months older than Jackson and I think people would have the two of them bunched pretty closely. I'd say Jaylen would go anywhere from 2-7 in this year's draft -- basically part of that group I see as 2-6 this year.

As for Zizic and Yabu, this draft opens up big time after around #10. I could see those guys going anywhere between #11 and low-20s depending on teams picking. I'd take either guy over someone like Justin Jackson or Collins from Wake Forest who both seem to be picked in the teens.

It's like 80's ball. All 5 defenders foul line or below.

And yet still he scores!

I think people are inherently doubtful that big men will play well. Once bit twice shy or something.

I have no idea what he can bring to the table but I'm in the camp how can you be worse than Amir's corpse and Zeller?

Well, I always have trouble with questions like these because it's tough to know if the question is about last year's Jaylen entering this draft or a sophomore Jaylen with another year at Cal entering the draft. Ultimately think Jackson's passing and defensive play just projects much better than Jaylen's with everything else looking close under either scenario. I'd have trouble constructing an argument for Jaylen over Josh.

Zizic without a doubt would be ranked very high this year. Lottery for sure, and probably top 10. The jump he made in competition was significant and he played really well by all accounts. Yabusele on the other hand - who knows? He's a physical specimen who can shoot but played in a no-defense league. It's too bad they didn't have him playing in a good Euro league.

5-10 range. Zizic 10-13.

I've seen some say Yabusele would be a lotto pick this year as well. Some even have him higher than Zizic

Nah another full year of school and Jaylen's in the mix for #1, top 5 lock. With the draft being so deep I would speculate that Zizic is between the 15-25 range, with Yabs like 15-35.

According to O'Connor and most of the Ringer's journalists Zizic would be top 10. Yabu should def be a first rounder if OG Anunoby is top 15'
Good assessment:

Don't think I'd be taking Zizic over anyone currently projected to go in the top 10, but the draft seems to fall apart after that. No idea on Yabu. Would guess anywhere from 15-45.

Yeah I saw some of those projections before. Zizic top 10? Over whom exactly?? At best he's @10 but that's a major stretch considering the skill in this draft. I.E. there's no way he's taken before a much more skilled and talented Zach Collins.

Don't get me wrong I'm in the Zizic fanclub but I'm just being realistic.

Yep, I'm really looking forward to Zizic, too. He's very quick for a guy his size, and he's a quick jumper, too, even on second jumps. Looks to be a good shot blocker because of that quick jumping and good timing. I'm just far less enthused about Yabu, though. Hope I'm wrong about that.

For the life of me I can't get excited by Yabusele. Maybe I'm wrong but he doesn't look like an NBA talent to me.

Saw him in his d league debut, and felt the same. Looked like a shorter version of Sully. Hope I'm wrong

Just saw last year's combine measurements - Zizic had a very low - average for a big - no step vertical of 27, 28 inches.

Trying to think of comps for Fultz - the smooth, lazy-looking body control and change of pace are Tracy Mcgrady. Physically he makes me think of a more fluid Kendall Gill.
