I'm so not a Caris Levert guy. He was overrated long before Horton-Tucker.

THT's high bust risk/overrated but so young and relatively cheap I wouldn't hate getting him. Don't want Caris either but "playmaking wing" was the rumor.

Would be a bigger shocker if we deal Horford and get more in return than Presti did

looking at Al trades “as they pursue another center”, is the gist

Not much in terms of an offensive synergy standpoint. Rozier thrives off another player being the main playmaker. The shooting would be nice, but Rozier's playstyle is very much self creation

But that is the player Boston is missing right now. Boston's turnover issues aren't due to selfish play it is due to a collection of players who have good all-around skills but are not able to create their own shot. So Boston ends up overpassing on the perimeter trying to get to a catch and shoot look or eventually a bail out one on one (or 2 or 3 if Tatum or Brown).

I think some of this is the statistical obsession. Everyone has to shoot 40% from now to be valued and the reality is that off the dribble 3's are a tougher shot than catch & shoot corner looks. I know they dig deep on this data and it is easier for the more conservative broad skill set guy to be useful say Grant Williams than to hit on the gunner Carson Edwards.

So they’re looking for a Rob backup or I guess a stretch 5.. Doesn’t say whether we want to trade Al FOR a center

While very true this team is not worth paying lux tax, being under eliminates teams trying to jam you at the deadline because they are getting you under. Boston is likely going to be looking at 3 team deals and anytime your cutting salary in a deal as a tax payer is going to be viewed as something the other team needs to be compensated for.

I'm 100% down to move on from Horford ASAP.

Horford and a pair of firsts for Grant/Olynyk. Ideally sub in one of the firsts for Nesmith or Langford.

Horford for Hield/Bagley or in the spirit of bringing old faces back Hield/TT. Would be amazing for it to be Barnes/Bagley or Barnes/TT, but I wouldn't pony up the price to make that swap realistically.

Horford for Gordon/Theis. Horford plus Nesmith/first for Gordon/Wood (how do you like them apples?).

There's problems with a bunch of guys on this list in terms of being "out there", but Scottie Barnes really takes the cake. I don't think there's many players in the NBA that the Raptors would trade him for.

I wondered about Al for Hield.. maybe Josh/Dennis go out for a center..

I wonder about having a frontcourt partner for Rob who can be a stretch 4 on offense and a 5 on defense, with Rob quick enough to switch and guard power forwards.. like a poor man’s Allen/Mobley if Allen were the one stretching the floor.

Bruno and Dozier Dallas 2nd, 2 boston 2nds to Clippers for Morris (saves them 45 million in Morris' contract and almost 50 million in lux tax)(Creates a 12 million TPE)

Morris to Chicago for White, Brown Jr, J. Green

Schroder and Romeo to Dallas for a 2nd (TPE takes them both)

White, Green and Brown Jr to Boston. Shed 2.4 million in salary, adds a starting SG that fits team needs and some depth (and a close friend of Tatum returns in Green)

White/Pritchard
Smart/Richardson/Green
Brown/Nesmith/Brown Jr
Tatum/GrantW
Timelord/Horford/Kanter

Olynyk could be a target, for Al/sweetener, or into the TPE, or for Josh in a three team deal..

Would make a lot of sense - reasonable contract, can play next to Rob, stretches the floor, good playmaking IQ.. kind of a center.

Josh out to team x, Olynyk in
Dennis for Jalen Smith
Al for some kind of pricey wing or bad contract + wing, maybe Romeo or Aaron outgoing…

They are 850k over the tax likely....think they’ll be fine without getting leveraged too hard there lol

Cs literally just shed 3M without compensating the other team(s). Even gained an asset depending on how you view Bol Bol and acquiring players' Bird Rights.

It's just a matter of finding another team who's (equally or) more desperate (as) than you. In this case, Nuggets wanted a shooter and were willing to give up a young player and future 2nd for him.

How about something like:

Jerami Grant and Olynyk to Boston
Al and Dennis to Dallas
Hardaway, Powell, Nesmith, and pick(s) (from Boston) to Detriot

Boston upgrades their roster, Dallas gets deeper and can go with the "twin-towers". and Detriot tanks and gets assets for the future

Smart, Pritchard
Brown, Richardson
Tatum, Langford
J Grant, G Williams
Rob, Olynyk, Freedom

Hopefully, Boston can grab a backup PG on the buyout market.
