Pacers can get something for George at any point. We don't even know what really happens behind the scenes. If Pacers feel Celtics can resign George then giving him away for rental package isn't smart. Actually Ainge doesn't have much say in this. Unless he puts BK18/LAL18/Brown/Tatum in play then i say no George this summer.

Probably worried about public turning on them if a deal was done with another team with a bunch of "sources" reporting a fake deal was essentially in place already.

That too. Nobody is going to offer anything even in at stratosphere.

The Celtics are reportedly interested in trading for George if they are able to sign Gordon Hayward in free agency.

Kevin Pritchard is asking the Celtics for the Brooklyn Nets' 2018 first round pick as well as the Los Angeles Lakers' 2018 first round pick, plus starting player(s).

So this the pacers asking price

Avery Bradley
Jae Crowder
2018 Nets Pick
2018 Lakers pick.

The Pacers President/General Manager is not serious about trading Paul George. What a joke.

Anybody see Adam Kaufman's recent tweet on the Celtics Summer League roster? Found is a little odd that Jordan Mickey was left off the roster. May mean something, may mean nothing....

So they'll take a lesser package why? To punish the Celtics?

The crying would be incredible if we keep both.

Give them BOS 18, Clipps pick, Zizic, Bradley and Crowder. Maybe re route Bradley or Crowder for picks or something.

The Rondo Show wrote:Haven't seen this mentioned yet but haven't gone thru every page so I apologize if it has been. Mark Murphy of the Herald says that the Lakers pick is off the table as of now as well as the Nets '18 pick.

Up until now the Celtics have been unwilling to part with their best assets — Brooklyn’s 2018 first-round pick, and a 2018 Lakers first-rounder (acquired from Philadelphia) that will convert to a 2019 Sacramento first-rounder if the LA pick doesn’t fall in the 2-5 range.

Ainge trying to get him with a low ball offer comparable to all of these other really bad offers IND is getting, seems like. I hope he puts it in play if push comes to shove, but hoping he can get it done without it and using our lesser assets we won't miss much (BOS '18/LAC '19/MEM '19, Yabusele, Rozier or Smart) in addition to Bradley/Crowder that are needed to match salary. Bradley/Crowder/LAL '18 doesn't feel like an overpay, but if you look at the rumored offers and rumored teams' in the mix assets, it would be as of now.

Ya Bulpett had a similar article yesterday morning. If we can get him without a Brooklyn pick or the lakers pick we could have something special..

Our best offer without one of those picks would be

Bradley
Crowder
Smart
Boston 18
Clippers 19
Memphis 19

If we get it done for less even better

My thinking is that IND isn't going to want Bradley and Crowder they are going to have to be spun off for draft picks and to teams with cap space. I have no problem including the LAL '18 pick if George signs an extension. Frankly that type of pick is what will separate Boston's offer from everyone else. I have a sense that Ainge values Smart more than we understand, he probably also feels that way about Bradley so this is going to be a challenge.

Even if it just the start of negotiations that asking price is ridiculous. He is lucky the phone wasn't hung up on him.

It depends what you call lesser. We don't even know what Ainge offered, just rumors. I doubt he offered LAL pick. Bradley + Crowder + some late 1sts isn't really much better than Randle + Clarkson + late 1st.

If Ainge wants to build a superteam then Pacers GM says: "Pay up! If not then there are other offers out there i can accept." We are the ones who want George not Pacers. They can ask for whatever they want. It's up to Ainge to decide if it's fair or not.

Beautiful.

I was worried I was gonna have to pull out "George, George, George of the Jungle: Watch out for that Three!" That would have been humiliating.
