We just need to keep Tatum, every other asset should be on the table.

No way. So when he leaves after next year will it be worth it? Giving up everything?

I'm sure they'll fill out their roster but I don't think that puts them head & shoulders above teams like the Rockets, Nuggets, Blazers, etc. Of course the Warriors too, depending on how things shake out for them.

It all depends on Lebron’s health. They were no.4 in west when lebron went down, and could have easily made the playoffs if he was healthy. AD and Lebron could easily beat the blazers, HOU and the nuggets.

Lebron is old and breaking down.

The guy is superhuman, but for the first time just doesn’t bring it every game anymore. What is he, 34-35?

It’s probably over for him.

And if he gets AD and another max player he won’t have to....they’ll unleash him in the post season

Btw there is not a chance in hell the Celtics rebuild. Only Boston team not to make the finals in their respective sports. Ownership is different than say the Jacobs family. Jacobs is fine with how the Cup ended since Mr. Burns still got his precious concessions gate from game 7. Celtics owners are actual fans who want to win.

Only the most optimistic greenest of green teamers can still believe kyrie is coming back.....not a piece of information released ANYWHERE says he’s even still thinking about it (actually Wednesday bulpett wrote that and then Thursday released an article killing that and saying he’s going to the nets)

AD won’t change that...maybbbbeeee it goes from zero to 10%. He knew we had a great chance of getting AD for months. KD injury clearly hasn’t changed anything everything he’s posted about that hasn’t been been incoherent rambling disguised as what he thinks is intelligence has been talking about his old neighborhood and home.

“The chance to come home be closer to my family and friend was just too good to pass up” it’s over and AD won’t change it. I want it to but it’s an extreme long shot (woj shams mannix bulpett himmelsbach reload all concur) You trade for him you better hope Hayward is back to Utah days and kawhi leaves the raptors etc because while the league may be WIDE open for the taking I don’t think it’s going to be enough with rozier Hayward AD horford and brown (if he’s here) and when it isn’t he’s gone.

I want AD and kyrie as much as anyone and maybe at least AD just happens and I’ll support the team and ainge either way but the Celtics dream of AD kyrie together in BOSTON is dead.

It’s not about rebuilding but giving up big capital for a rental.

He can hit the road! He was exposed in the playoffs. The guy doesn’t make anybody else around him better.

Durant will be back for next years playoffs. Guaranteed.

Achilles? Come on. That is 9 months. Look at Boogie, he isn't some super speedster and he plays at a slower pace and he took about 10 months.

Ummm you're forgetting the fact that every other team's players are self-correcting aliens and every Boston injury means they'll never be the same again. Duh, that's why KD and klay will be back putting up 50 ppg for game 1 and hayward will put up 2 ppg until the trade deadline when he gets shipped out for a used condom

That's actually very true. Complete amateur. Can't believe national media is giving him props. What a circus.
Good assessment:

If you give them everything he ends up on a team worse than the one he just came from and you expect him to stay?

Where are the people saying they were laughing at others believing Kyrie was leaving. Come on, already. Man up.

It's madness to trade anything valuable for a one-year rental of AD. But folks are frothing at the mouth.

What I think is happening: Ainge has an offer that doesn't include either Tatum or the Memphis pick. He tells Griffin that's as high as he can go without AD commitment or Kyrie re-signing. He tells Griff to go ahead find himself a better offer elsewhere. Griffin isn't enthused with either offer from Lakers and Celtics. All these leaks are to force Lakers to pony up more. Dunno if Lakers blink. Lakers throw in every young guy + #4, AD lands with them. I think Ainge stands firm with his initial offer unless Kyrie says he's coming back, which he is not.

Also me: Literally nothing is going on right now. Media just love them clicks/RTs.

Tatums body bothers me. thought he had endless room to fill out but after watching him another year where he did add some size I'm not so sure. to me his ceiling lies in his ability to add strength and right now I don't see him ever being strong enough to either body into the lane at will nor be able to push his mans off in isos, nor has he displayed the willingness to want to play that way. he can still be very good, perhaps a perennial allstar, but a top 3-5 wing is either a tough projection to make or he could be a guy who takes a long time to get there. i'm not as concerned with him polishing his skills but physically its like they were projecting before the draft, he doesn't have anything elite there.

either way, davis isn't an old man and tatum is never going to be on his level. i'm happy to keep brown and see what he can do, after this year im just as high on his potential as i am on tatum.

2008 was the last time we won a banner under Danny Ainge. And even this was a help from his pal Kevin McHale. Since 2008 Danny Ainge has kept us relevant. 1st to 2nd round exit play off team.

Wyc has same thinking philosophy like Danny thats why his iob is safe. If it was any other org Danny would be fired by now. He assembled a high school drama queen team that couldn’t get along. As a GM put your foot down. He should of removed Rozier a long time ago. As much as good things he has done he has equally screwed it up.

His draft picks are also meh. Tons of guys he drafted aren’t even in the league. Yeah a few of them turned out to be ok. We will see what Tatum and Brown become but as a fan I cannot take Danny’s BS anymore:

When AD lands in LA Danny will usually give his BS speech: we were very careful what to do and what not to do. I think we have a great group of guys who are good and also draft will help us. I will stock pile draft picks until I am 109 yrs old. Bla bla bla bla. We heard this year after year. Not buying it anymore

Kyrie left right around the time he said "Ask me July 1st." Some fans just didn't realize it (including myself) until it was too late.
