I'd like them to play like the 2014 Spurs.

Too many keys guys call for their own number for this to happen. Starts with the stars willingness to play less iso/postup/clearout, to move more off the ball, and to drive to pass/kick on time (not just barrel into defenders).

Would love to see the Celts replace Josh Richardson with Terrence Ross.

Same, but Ross will cost us. Dude's a certified 6th man.
Good assessment:

PLO wrote:Tatum played OK - took advantage of a few mismatches - decent on the defensive end. He is what we thought he was going into the season - a technically very proficient player operating close to his career ceiling as a rookie.

Yeah, Orlando will ask for a 1st rounder.

Their salaries are similar so a one for one swap is possible.

Boys and Girls. Help me out. The first two games i stay up watching = L. The following two i go to bed because of work = W. Does this team hate me and has used my cellphone mic to confirm if i snort deeply or if i'm awake to win games?

Extending him one extra year makes him more tradable.

Apparently, players with expiring contracts have little trade value.

Tatum has played much better after his 1st game stinker. Question, how much of that was because Tatum played a lot more 4 man (all) vs the first game where he was basically the 3 man (most/all) of the game?

I believe it was at least a reasonable size factor.. Thoughts on this??

Tatum’s time of possession and dribbling numbers have slightly corrected, but it’s still night and day from last year. Last year he dribbled the ball 3-7+ times almost 49% of the time, this year it’s at 37%. Last year he held the ball for 2-6 seconds 50% of the time, and 6+ seconds 28% of the time, this year it’s 2-6 seconds of possession 39% of the time, and 25% for 6+ seconds. Last year he had the ball for two seconds or less 21% of the time, through four games this year he’s at 37%.

Again, these numbers don’t meant a ton yet, but give a very clear indication of what they’re going for. Ime has gotten them to buy into the ball movement offense quicker than I had expected. Also, to make Tatum’s life a bit easier, he’s at 5 catch and shoot threes a game so far, and shooting 45% on them. Last year he took 1.9 of them, and 2.4 the year before. Once he starts hitting his step backs like he has the last two season (36% and 41%) as opposed to the 23% he’s at right now, it’s lights out for other defenses.

I think that's about 0%of it. The guy missed a about 15 wide open shots in game one. I dont know how what position he played has anything to do with that. If you shoot a lot of jumpers you will occasionally have high variance games where you miss alot.

It does kind of matter because Tatum's struggles in the knicks game were a combination of:

a) RJ Barrett playing extremely good D on him. Barrett stuck to him like glue, played him really tight.

b) Tatum missing open shots he normally makes

I feel like it was def a combination of both, but maybe a little bit more of A.

You ask any knicks fans, they give all the credit to Barrett's D.

Since we played Tatum at the 4, it allowed the knicks to put Barrett (the guy on their team who does the best job defending tatum) on him..

I think it's a fair point and something worth keeping an eye on. Tatum had a terrible game vs knicks playing mostly the 3. he had an amazing game vs hornets playing mostly the 4..
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

Tatum didn’t really play that badly, he just shot badly.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

I agree with Hal14 on this one it's certainly a combination of them both but I think when Tatum plays the 4 they are more faster and more spread out and that alone can help the cause
