yep..I'd do that as a Cs fan. But Green and Barnes are not redundant. If I am GS I would not. I like your line of thinking though and agree.

If Danny threw Sully, Young, Zeller and 2 of our picks and 2 of brooklyns picks Sacramento wouldn't at least listen? It wouldn't be enough to even have them consider it? Hell you could include this years pick too.

As far as Durant goes - prepare yourself because that's what Danny's positioning himself for. He wanted him when he was coming out and he fits the bill for what Danny's trying to do which is acquire star talent. Is he coming? Probably not....that's why it's my "ideal" scenario and not the "probable" scenario.

yep I think Sac would listen. especially if you say Cs 2015, 2017 (swap rights with BK) and Brooklyn's 2016, 2018...but thats a huge overpay IMO...and leaves the cupboard pretty bare. Boogie is an Allstar...literally, but Sac is 17-29. I don't think he turns the tables for the Cs. One could argue that the Sac Roster without Boogie is better than ours is now. I'd love to have him but I don't see it...and if we overpay, that could mess us up for a long time.

Memphis could be a destination for Thornton now that Carter is down with an injury.

can't see how this one would work Salary wise without a pretty complicated 3-4 team deal.

Yeah, that's a gigantic overpay- could be 2-4 high lottery picks you're giving up for Cousins.. I could see Sully/Zeller/2015 1st as fair value, SAC might want more. Really depends on where they and we end up in the draft, or if they even have their pick. We could take away some of their bad contracts.. That's where the stars seem to be aligning as far as trade compatibility, but I don't think SAC deals him unless he becomes a huge headache- he's just too good.

If they play well enough to sneak out of the top 10, though, their pick goes to Chicago. And if we luck into a top 3 pick, everything changes. We could offer a guy like Towns in a straight swap and give them major cap flexibility. If we wound up with the number one pick, Okafor for Cousins+ becomes very appealing to both teams..

I like the idea of a deal with Denver to take on some of their bad money for an asset.. TPE for Mcgee and their pick this year, top 3 protected; Bass for Hickson and a future 1st, protected 1-20 if they want; Wallace/asset for Mcgee..

I say give help to the teams playing the Clippers.

B Bass to Spurs, take back a couple of expiring contracts like Ayres and Bellinelli or someone.

Portland have Wright and Robinson and Freeland on ending deals, send them Bass or Thornton.

Houston, they have expiring J Terry and the pick from the Pelicans.

Dallas, the Celtics could send them Rondo or someone.

OKC may not be able to catch LAC, but they have useless on the court but expiring K Perkins to move. But they do have a couple of games against the Clippers, they win and help the draft pick.

Bass, Prince, Thornton, they need to go before they ruin the draft pick even more than they already have.

I agree that it's an overpay but was just to prove the point that we have the pieces to at least get Sacramento to consider it despite Cousins being signed long-term and not asking out.

Yeah, I agree with you on that- if Cousins demands a trade, we have the pieces. But I don't think he will, yet, and I don't think they'll trade him yet. New owners and GMs have a grace period, and their front office is trying hard to build a good team quickly- they're not going to hit the reset button unless something forces their hand. Like I said, the lottery changes everything. If we could offer Towns or Okafor for Cousins straight up as a trade base (and have the flexibility to build out variations of that deal, like taking Landry, getting Mclemore, getting their pick, etc.), they might like the idea of getting a non-headache in Okafor and getting out of Cousins' max money...

But you see... the same reason we would even think about offering that is the same reason SAC would say no. We all know you need a "star" to build around. They already have one. Unless he becomes a malcontent... why would they move him? And if that package is better then Cousins... why wouldn't we want to just keep it? You see... a bird in hand is worth two in the bush...

MAYBE if we got the #1 pick... but other then that... they say NO! What are they going to do with cap space? Without Cousins they are trash and no one if going to sign there...

The ONLY way we have a shot at Cousins is if he demands a trade... and that isn't happening any time soon... like years away... so there is no reason to even fantasize about it right now...

Durant's more likely to hit the trader market sooner than Cousins.. Durant's a free agent in 2016 and OKC's really struggling.

Is this the second DNP for Prince? I wonder if we have verbal agreement to move him or if Danny has just given up....

EDIT- never mind..looks like he has a hip injury.

Couple ideas:

BOS
Out: Bass, Turner
In: Tolliver, J. Anthony, '16 DET 1st (top 10-15 protected)
DET
Out: Tolliver, Anthony, '16 1st
In: Bass, Turner
Det gets an upgrade at backup PF and another ball handler in Turner to help offset the loss of Brandon Jennings as they try to make the playoffs. C's get another 1st.

BOS
Out: Bass
In: Belinelli, Ayers, '16 CHA 2nd, '17 SA 2nd
SA
Out: Belinelli, Ayers, '16 CHA 2nd, '17 SA 2nd
In: Bass
Danny gets a couple of 2nd round picks to add to the cupboard, SA upgrades their bench. Helps weaken LAC in the west.

BOS
Out: Bass, Thornton
In: T. Robinson, D. Wright, J. Freeland, V. Claver/W. Barton (whoever they want to give up to make $ work), '16 or '17 POR 1st (top 10 protected).
Lots of moving parts, but POR gets an upgrade in the front court and back court, C's get another likely late 1st.

BOS
Out: Bass, Thornton
In: E. Gordon, '16 NO 1st, '18 NO 1st
NO
Out: Gordon, '16 1st, '18 1st, top 5 protection on each.
Not likely, but if NO wants to get rid of that contract, I'll take 2 more 1st rounders for the inconvenience. Would give Danny two big expiring contracts (with Wallace) heading into next season, along with almost all of the first round draft picks available, to start swinging some major deals.

The trade deadline is up in exactly two weeks. I guess the trade rumors will start heating up very soon, particularly after our game vs the Hawks next Wednesday, the last one we will play before the All Star break.

Expect rumors surrounding the normal "suspects" (Bass, Prince, Thornton) but also maybe some rumblings and surprises...

A lot of experts are predicting a quiet deadline. Other teams have become conservative at this point accept for a couple buyers out there like OKC, and a lot of GM's are willing to wait the rest of the season out after the flurry of early trades to start this season.

I wouldn't expect Danny does much unless a team gets desperate. Probably a couple buyouts as others have said.

Washington has struggled and Andre Miller has been DNP for a couple of games. Front court injuries in Portland and Houston. Seem like the most likely candidates for trades.

Maybe something like Andre Miller and K. Seraphin out, Houston takes on Seraphin for Terry, and Boston sends out whatever vet Washington wants. Thornton maybe.

Unrelated, but do you all think a deal with a core of:
Bass/Gerald for
DLee/2019 1st
would be feasible and/or worthwhile?

We'd be blowing through $5m of our 2015 cap room for a 1st rounder. I think they'd stretch Wallace(difference of $2m/yr in comparison to what stretching Lee would do) to make a Draymond deal more digestable. By my calculations, stretching Wallace could put their pre-Draymond salaries at ~$66m. Maybe saves them from that threshold for the last year of the tax being in the high $70m range and they have Bass to hold them over this year.

Yeah the Middleton idea is growing on me. They've got the guys you mentioned and have just a high enough salary that if Boston makes a strong offer (or threatens to) they might be able to make it happen. Another salary dump option would be to take on Mayo or Ilyasova (who are both expirings next year) with Middleton if Milwaukee wants to go after a higher end option at another spot.

On the Ws, I think Caveman has been right on, in that they will likely need to move Lee but it will happen around the draft or early summer. I'd be fine with picking up more chips at that point.
