Also it’s strange though that everyone forgets that Smart is part of our bench?

Where are Walker, Smart and Theis now?

Being held out against weak regular season teams out of an abundance of caution and/or to build other guys’ trade values?

Thank you— theres a reason that Langford started last night

Iggy looked washed up last season. Maybe the rest helps him.

Sure. Let’s limp into the playoffs. Looking forward to it

JT and JB are leading us in minutes at a little less than 34 each. GH is a bit under 33. They’re all missing games/being held out occasionally. I don’t see the problem.

No one’s talked about it in terms of trade value to my knowledge but e.g. with Kemba out the streak Hayward’s on has been pretty stellar.

I mean, none of these moves/non-moves (by us or other teams) matter. We're going to the Finals regardless. Not being cocky or flippant or controversial or anything. Just stating facts here. I've seen the future (not all of it). The Celtics will still be playing in June.

And-1 to validate the crazy.

It was widely reported.

From your ass to earlobes?

and lastly not trading for jimmy butler was a smart move bc jimmy butler is an absolutely overrated player who is having a renaissance in Miami now but talk to me when the honeymoon period is over in 16 months. Before finding a fit he was a malcontent both places.

Kawhi was a rental more so and we had kyrie in his final year also. Don’t equate ainge not wanting to have 2 flight risks as suddenly jaylens value now.

Having Kawhi and Kyrie most likely would have signaled a championship. Really good chance. which in turn would have probably kept kyrie here and increased chances of getting Davis too.

one could argue that Ainge values Brown more than a potential championship last season.

Should we follow Rockets lead? Abandoning idea of bigs that can match with Embiid and Giannis and instead run with our strengths? Theis and RW are more PF types already and our team could really use a stouter wing than Tatum and taller than GW to deal with 6-10 types. A shooter would be nice too. Bertrans and Bjelica would be nice targets. Morris would be okay. I like our 3 headed SF monster but none are ready for playoff basketball if they have to guard PFs or Cs. We don’t need a center....but we should upgrade our tweeners.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

Its really not that crazy.

If Philly is in the 4/5 matchup, I could see them beating Milwaukee. I could see us beating Toronto in the 2/3.

Philly wouldnt scare me in the ECFs, especially if we had HCA

Yea bc a championship kept kawhi in Toronto. But now you’re also agreeing they should have moved brown I guess, so the double talk has me confused. Enjoy the day

I mean follow Rockets lead by going all in. Up to now, we were following Capela model. If the right guy could be had by combining our bigs salaries it could leave our center depth thin but maybe that’s okay. Theis is going nowhere so we won’t be as thin as Houston is now.

I really like Kanter and he helps us win a lot of regular season games. He also had a great run out West last year so who’s to say he won’t be a playoff contributor. But maybe our path to finals means even more wing play.

I have a soft spot for Jonas Jerebko and his backboard-smashing hook shots lol. What's he doing nowadays? James Johnson if bought out fits the bill. Smart passer, stout defender, but probably not a good influence to the young guys and may mess with locker room chem.

We could really use a Jonas Jerebko type. Athletic, competitive, savvy and an okay 3 pt shot. I think even a guy at his talent level would be an asset. I think he himself is done unfortunately.

Oh I wish we would've got Burks for cheap. Could've been a nice bench addition... Damn it, Ainge, what're you doing now?

I swear last night's game started with Tommy & Mike lightly singing "Romeo!" & then Tommy made some type of comment like, "we won't be saying (singing?) his name much longer..." & then there was an awkward pause before Mike steered the conversation away. Did anyone else catch that?

Now you are just putting words in my mouth.

Kawhi would have left, yes, but with Kawhi, JT, Hayward, Kyrie, Horford, Baynes I think the team wins a Championship last season. So even though Kawhi would have been a rental it most likely would have been a hampionship.

Ergo one can argue that Brown was worth moreto Danny that a really outstanding shot at a championship last season.

Also, if team had Kawhi here with Kyrie, then perhaps Kyrie doesnt go mental, perhaps Davis demands boston.

Point is there is alot more to it all than just (Danny didnt want to trade Brown for a rental" I mean last season Kawhi was the best player in the world.

Who cares about players with guaranteed money.

If team is willing to tie up 120 million in their top 4 wings, then quibbling over a couple million seems foolish

Wait Danny Ainge has an excuse? That's something new.
