They're in legit contention and the only reason they won't be in the future is CP3 falling off a cliff due to age. If they had gotten him earlier in his career they could have a really long run as a powerhouse.

I've seen Tatum have 50 games over the last two tears like the one Jaylen Brown had last night. Your stretching on your Jaylen Brown hate.

50? Stop it lol. That post is just as much Tatum hate as the quoted one is Jaylen hate.

There’s a massive difference between being the guy defenses load up against, and being the guy playing off of that.

Go look at my posts. I have never said a bad thing about Tatum or Brown. My point is Tatum gets a free ride. There is a double standard. I've watched Tatum go 5-24 with 5 turnovers and no says a word. In my opinion they both stink but that's OK because they are young and learning. They both will get there.

A free ride? Come on lol, dude gets blasted more than anyone on this board, and by a lot (and his play this year is the biggest reason we can’t win close games). Hell just on the first page alone, there’s threads about him being overrated, and that he cares more about scoring than winning.

I said in the GT last night that I don’t think Jaylen should get blamed for last night, he was just playing a role he’s not equipped to play. That’s not on him, most players struggle in that situation.

Jaylen does deserves blame but not all of it. Celtics roster is garbage. Tatum deserves his share of the blame too. Tatum and Brown right now are part of the problem and they need to become part of the solution.

This teams biggest issue is they just can’t stay healthy, when their best players are out there, they’ve significantly outplayed other teams.

But….when you have injury prone players, you’re going to be short handed a ton. Between that, both Jay’s playing worse than last season, and especially COVID….not good lol.

Big picture wise this team absolutely needs a shakeup, I’m just not stressing about their record right now.

There was literally people saying trade Tatum 1 week into the year, there’s a “would Tatum rather score 40 and lose or 11 and win thread”

Doesn’t matter you said he gets a free ride (Tatum) it’s not true. No double standard and if there ever was it would probably because he’s in an entirely different realm of player than Jaylen is but again just saying he definitely doesn’t get a free ride.

I wasn't saying "trade Tatum" one week into the year, but I'm saying it now.

When they were 2-5 I said, give it 20 games before making any moves. It has been 27 games, and I've seen enough.

Celtics need a legit point guard to take the ball out of Tatum and Brown’s hands and put the two in the right spots on the floor.

Problem is I have no idea where the Celtics get that type of player. I don’t believe the Celtics do either.

That’s my opinion. I think that would correct a ton of issues.

No, it’s not Smart, Pritchard or Schroder

Just giving up a mid first rder is better than getting another mid first that won't play much/at all next year.

This team needs a talent upgrade whenever they can get it. Of course this would be better if our coach used the principals I like in a lineup. Skillful switchable wings.

RW at center with Tatum-Reddish at forwards and Brown and Smart at PG..

Stevens needs to do something.. This is a good start at least IMO.

Reddish would be a real nice acquisition. He was deemed a good shooter coming out of college and can defend 3 positions, and is shooting it well this year..

I suspect ATL will want more than mid-FRP though. Perhaps Richardson and a pick for Reddish and either LouWill or Delon Wright works? Richardson can help ATL defensively.

at best Tatum is 2nd option on a contending team and JB is a 3rd !

Our two best solutions are to either trade JB for a young unknown (vlade for kobe esque) or build a 10 headed monster lead by Jayss and a table setting scoring/shooter PG ....we would need elite shooting and D everywhere else

tanking hurts culture and blowing things up only puts is in position to get a couple of high lottery picks which is the exact sane thing as Tatum and Brown !

Stevens and the Celtics should be overpaying for the right point guard to team with Tatum and Brown. In my opinion that would change everything. Use as many draft picks as it takes.

Again, I just don’t know who that player is right now

KLowry is the only name that came to mind all offseason and I pounded table pretty hard for him Rubio would improve things bit not at the rate we need

tanking hurts culture and pisses away another Jays window under contract season but this season is shot and can only be helped by trading scraps and picks for a superstar or tank it out and get a top 10 pick which hopefully is our PG

The have two large TPE to take on longer term money. Celtics need to find a team that will trade them the player they want for multiple draft picks and also to remove longer term deals from their roster. Celtics pay the tax but so be it.

Like I said, who that team is going to be is the problem

33 points on 8 threes is the least impressive thing a young player can do - open shots and a hot hand don't tell you much. Reddish is intriguing, but if he has a market, he'll go to the team offering the best (least protected) first-rounder. I don't know if we want to do that.

Any low-price high-upside acquisition is fine with me, but he's up for an extension this summer, next season is his last under contract, and we've got Romeo and Nesmith as wing prospects already.

Getting a really good playmaker likely involves either trading Jaylen Brown or hoping Pop deals Dejounte Murray.

Given he's due for an extension, I suspect his market is a mid-FRP and rotation player, who defends well.

He's the same age as Nesmith and a better prospect, who also has more size than Nesmith. Ideally, Stevens can upgrade over Nesmith.

What we need are unselfish players who don't wet the bed in clutch situations.

The Celtics marketing people have shoved those two young all stars down the throats of the fanbase for years now. It's time to realize that the two emperors aren't wearing clothes and that you have been hoodwinked. Sorry if you bought a jersey.
