Re: 100 Pages & Running: The FA/Trade Thread.
Bring j-rich back with the TPE.
He loved it here in boston. the guys loved him. Good defender, good shooter. Can create a little bit off the dribble, most notably with that quick burst driving left and then laying it in off wrong foot move.
Then for that 3rd string big man spot grab 1 of these guys with a minimum contract:
Thomas Bryant
Duop Reath
Jo Lual-Acuil
Chinanu Okuaku
Edy Tavares

Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything

As between Trevion and Kabengele, I'll take Kabengele. But what's a championship worth? There are plenty of guys I'd take over those two. If you are going to go all in, go all in.

Trevion has never had a chance to play in the nba, you never know. also, I was joking, we definitely need another big and I'm talking much better than korny.

Re: 100 Pages & Running: The FA/Trade Thread.
Doesn't Boston have 3 2nd rd picks next year??
between trading PP + TPE + two 2nd rders, there has to be someone decent at center to trade/pickup. Maybe someone no one has mentioned.
absolutely worst case is H Giles or Moses Brown IMO. Or maybe Trevion shows out in the summer league.
But I agree, one good insurance policy away at Big, and this will be a complete off-season.

That would be nice but where is he going to play?
All the minutes at PG and SG are taken. Brown's minutes will be more divided this season between SG and SF because Smart, White and Brogdon are all deserving of 30 minutes a game. I get it's a 82 game season, but I guy like J-Rich isn't coming here to just sit and wait every 4 or 5 games for a player to be out, so he can get minutes.

Boston will get another center in the next few days or even months (by the trade deadline). You need another guy that can play C for about 8-10 minutes a night. I won't trade White for a back up Center. We can get one for the player minimum soon.
A center for the vet minimum will provide less than Theis.
Not necessarily. Guys who can contribute end up on the vet minimum for various reasons every year. GS had OPJ and GP2 playing rotation minutes in the finals vs Boston, both on vet min deals. Theis was making 8m to play a total of 20 minutes in the finals.
Would love for Boston to acquire an outlier.

If we're out on Bryant my vet min big preference would be BIsmack Biyombo

Amir Johnson is younger than Al Horford. So are Vitor Faverani and Colton Iverson.

Can't see Boston having an $180 million payroll. As dangercart pointed out, ownership's already past their highest spend ever.

If that doesn't work then trade for another big at the trade deadline.
That may be what happens bc we may not get past the Bucks with our current frontcourt.

Daniel Oturu is a binky who I liked in the 2020 draft that I hope we can look at. Is he out there?? I don't remember any guaranteed contract with him this year coming.

we have the roster spots. we have the TPE. we need depth to win a title.
guys will get hurt. it's a long season - you need a deep team.
I'll let Udoka figure out the rotation and minutes. That's his job.
You'd rather have Brodric Thomas on this team or Josh Richardson? That's what I thought.

And? You realize the salary cap keeps going up and up and up. Player's salaries keep going up and up and up. The bolded part is to be expected - especially if you're a team trying to win a title.
We just lost in the finals because the warriors had the highest payroll in the league and we had the 19th highest.
The owners have the money:
