My #1 buyout target is Robert Covington. There's a good chance Philly trades him, and it would likely be to a team in sell mode. He looked great the last time we played them.

In theory MEM would be disinclined from moving Tillman because Adams is out. But in reality, his role has been reduced as the season has gone on. They signed Biyombo to start over him and Tillman's role has been spotty since then. Seems their preference is to play Jaren Jackson Jr. at the 5 for non Biyombo minutes over playing Tillman a ton. If they continue to flounder, hard to imagine that they wouldn't at least be open to moving him. He should be acquirable for 2nd round pick or two, IMO.

On Konchar, he's been pretty rough this year and he's got 3 guaranteed years. It's not a ton of money, but it's enough money that if we took him into the TPE we might very will be owed a 2nd from them for the $$$ rather than us owe them a 2nd for the player.

You have to figure Tillman is really really bad if Memphis was willing to pay Bismarck Biyombo $5 mil. so they don't have to play Tillman.

Kinda weird to ignore positional need but maybe we just pursue the best player available?

Now that JB has overtaken JT.

What kind of a haul can we get for JT?

Tillman started for them last night with Biyombo out, so they'd need to figure something out given how thin they are. Wouldn't necessarily need to be part of the trade though (again maybe Kenny Lofton Jr. comes back or just a guy off the street).

Tillman being expiring heading to UFA I've got as basically neutral value. Konchar roughly the same because even with the extension and the down year, he does seem to have some potential and has a bit of a resume that can back that up.

Net/net you'd realistically need to kick in at least a 2nd because the savings probably isn't significant enough to to get Memphis to just do it for that alone, but can't imagine the overall cost being significantly more than that (nor would I pay more than that). Although maybe that changes if they throw in the towel before the deadline because of how deep a hole they've dug themselves.

Going by the stats Xavier Tillman appears to be a short big who can't shoot, can't finish well, and can't rebound. Is he like the greatest defender since KG because I can't imagine him leapfrogging even Lamar Stevens or Oshae.

Just get the Wiz to add Jordan Poole's basketball intelligence to the deal. That's a major negative value item.

JB can't be traded until after the season.

That's what I know.

And JB isn't going anywhere any time soon.

You should all be ready for JB a Celtic for life.

If Austin Rivers wanted to hang out on our bench I'd be cool with that, but he's not getting any minutes ahead of Pritchard. He wouldn't be a bad option if Brad did end up trading Pritchard to upgrade elsewhere.

Imagine some sort of 5 for 1 trade for Isaiah Stewart, then use the Grant TPE to bring in a couple of end of the bench pieces and Austin Rivers comes in as the third string PG.

BOS: Stewart, Konchar, Tillman, Rivers (as a FA signing)
DET: Kornet, Banton, Brissett, 2024 BOS first, 2nds from Memphis
MEM: Pritchard, Svi

Jrue/ Rivers
White/ Konchar/ Stevens
Brown/ Hauser/ Walsh
Tatum/ Horford/ Tillman
KP/ Stewart

Promote JD and/or Queta to the roster from their two-way (more likely one or the other leaving a space open for buyouts).

I just don't think it's realistic that the no. 1 seed in the east is gonna add 4 new players and get rid of 5 existing players in the middle of the season.
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

The Cleveland Cavaliers and Ricky Rubio have begun discussing a potential parting of ways amid doubts about Rubio resuming an NBA career that has spanned 12 seasons, league sources say.

Out (Personal) - Rubio is away from the team due to a mental health matter, he will miss an undetermined length of time. (Updated Sep.27, 2023)
