Last season the Celtics were first team to rally from 3-0 down in a conference finals to push the series to a game seven at home only to have their best player sprain his ankle in first minute. The mental toughness and fortitude required to get that far against a well coached team that had been to a finals and an ECF the 2 previous seasons was never fully appreciated mainly because the Boston Celtics have insanely high expectations.

I never understood the narrative that Jaylen and Jayson were somehow deficient given they have a track record at such a young age unmatched by any star since Duncan and Kobe. If they can pull off a win tonight it will be one day shy of the 2008 title clinching win on 6/15/08. I really admire what the Celtics have accomplished building and developing this team over the past 9 years.

The most underrated aspect of this title run is the amazing resurgence of Al Horford at age 38. When (and if) he gets his ring it will feel even better for me than seeing KG get his.
